Izuno but BlackOps 2 to me, was fucking disaster, it wasn't EPic, maybe I'm dumb as fuck but i didn't get the story straight (all the reviews was like - THE STORY IS SOLID, FUCINKG EPIC, and i was always like WTF?) i shot Mason in the head and story told me that i was aiming his leg ? WTF ?

gameplay - it was like game on rails with a croshair (this oldschool like Virtual Cop/The House of The Dead) but with ability to move, at the end i did just hold LMB and W to shoot and walk - that was the gameplay in this game - corridor/kill all badguys in windows or doors/section clear/next section with milions of npc's

and ancient graphics, damn i was sooo disapointed with BlackOps 2 - i really liked the firs one

I said "epic looking set pieces" ... I did not say the game was epic or the story was epic. That's becoming a meaningless term in some ways. I just literally meant some of the set pieces or moments in the game were trying to have an epic look/feel to them. I found those attempts somewhat entertaining. That is all.

One of the other dads at my kid's preschool is a design lead at IW...never says shit either (though I know not to ask) but he does wear a MW2, MW3, IW or other type of T-shirt LITERALLY EVERY DAY. Maybe there is a rule about M3 drivers required to wear shirts of one theme only.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-…next-gen-engine

Can't see how they could keep on using the same heavily modified idTech 3 engine once again anyway, but then again I've been saying that for the last 3 years :G

Wonder if it's going to be using this tech:

lol there's something very unsettling about the character in that video.

If they're going to keep the CoD series going into the next generation they definitely need a new engine, although as Ghosts will likely be a bridge release it'll probably still run on the old engine and just have some things pushed up like with most early releases this generation. More god rays or some shit.

I kind of think they'd be better off not releasing Ghosts on the next-gen consoles and making this a current-gen only title if it is still on the old engine, then there'll be more shock and awe when they do inevitably release a next-gen CoD with an incredible new engine. Doubt it though, we all know Activision loves its monies.

No doubt that this will be a next-gen launch title, new tech or not. I'd say that part of the reason that COD ended up as the behemoth that it is, is that COD2 was the best selling 360 launch titles, and from there they just kept the momentum. I bet Activision will do absolutely everything to try and go in those footsteps again.

Pretty good stuff in that demo, the only thing to rival it would be Quantic Dream's tech...

The next game in the franchise hits Nov. 5, 2013 and promises to deliver an all new story, setting and cast of characters powered by a "next generation" Call of Duty engine, according to the press release. The game will be coming to the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and "next generation platforms". More details will be announced at Microsoft's May 21 Xbox event.

Heh, so they'll have both Respawn showing their new thing AND Infinity Ward at the Microsoft event. Awkward

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm quite interested in seeing how this actually looks, if it's actually a new engine or if they're still using idTech 3 and saying that it's "next gen" because they've added more motion blur.

Curious to see what they come up with this time. Feels like it'll be something slightly different for the first time in a long while!

Probably won't buy it though. Haven't bought a CoD for a while now...

cod1 was pretty amazing though im not gonna sit here and hate. its just like this different game from this different dimension where cod would have kept being cool and not sell out like a boss

I always felt that where IW took cod was pretty much exactly where they wanted it to be. There's a lot that franchise did that felt like it was uniquely theirs and uniquely a game that came from a particular place. The first cod was some land mark shit and all their games were backed up with great levels and solid input, no fucking around in that department. For a long time it was some some of the best shooter combat out there. And the mix of simmy elements with the responsiveness of a quake game was some unbeatable stuff. It's been run into the fucking ground at this point, obviously, and it's a shame cause it casts a cloud over what was at one point, a franchise that was justifiably at the top of the heap, beyond just sales numbers.

Well you could just choose to disregard all the cods that IW hasn't made. Like I do. Then its not so bad

cod4 was a brilliant game and you do yourself a hipster disservice by not playing it.

Indeed cod4 was the last great one, it was pretty damn well balanced multiplayer and the single player was great.
