Guys am I the only one that thinks the mouse tracking in the menus is terrible?

It definitely lags behind my movement, like it's been extremely smoothed.

I have a steelseries mouse (and trackpad) and Doom menus are the only thing that is giving me problems. I don't see this happening in other games or activities. Maybe Steam big picture (need to double check).

Yday I tried snap map and it becomes really annoying.

    Any suggested workaround?

Offering looks fantastic. Did you work on any of the maps @BJA?

The hell levels kind of always seem to be the ones people like the most :) 0:13 is one of the areas I worked on for Cataclysm.

Too bad MP is already dead. I've been trying for 3 days now and the highest number I got to play with is 5. Such a shame because I like it and the maps are gorgeous. There are probably more players out there but the matchmaking is terrible and incredibly slow. People just don't have the patience for that. This game needs a server browser asap.

Wow, I expected it to die fast, just not this fast. I suppose the IP is not interesting enough to people who didn't grew up with it, and us older guys usually don't have much time to spare.

Will try to launch MP later today then, don't usually play mp until I finish campaign. Also need a reliable internet and more than anything, time!

    ~

As anyone tried snap map? I've done the tutorials, played with the funny puzzles, and started fiddling on a map, but I'm struggling in (a) finding the tiles that suit my vision, (b) connect the tiles! How super annoying not being able to create a connection between two areas because of the different heights between corridors where doesn't seem to be possible to find any connector! (Same happens horizontally as well)

The scripting system is great, but it would be amazing to have geometry work differently (eg resizable tiles, like a corridor retains the ends but you can adjust to your liking and stretches/tiles itself in the middle)

I've played some more and I still like it but this game needs some serious updates. A server browser would be a start but we also need the option to host custom games and hold private matches. I would love to see the possibility added to disable Demon Runes. I don't care if others use Hack Modules but I want the option to remove mine completely. Plus, I've been posting this on the official forums since the first closed alpha, movement needs to be faster. At least a 10 to 20% increase.

A vanilla DM mode without Demon Runes, Hack Modules and most of all, load outs would elevate the game to a whole new level. Map design is excellent, the more the play they would get, the better. Spread the word @BJA :P

Yeah, it's sometimes a bit difficult to make a room/area like you envisioned it in your head geo wise but still possible. Recently saw somebody doing a kitchen room You might also give the new hell modules a try, I think you those are better for making your own custom rooms.

Short video from one of the Doom panels from Quakecon, showing some very early prototypes of the combat.

Oh wow lol. Guess he had to use the grid room or another big empty and loads of assets, must have been a pain to spawn and place all.

Anyway, my comment is to suggest something to ensure more creativity if you will include snap map in quake (or another game after that)

If there's ever a game that needs a full SDK it's Quake Champions. If they want eSports, they'll need community maps.

    Dat boss fight…

a bit of a disappointing way to end the campaign. I mean probably nothing wrong with it, just you get back to the game because you were frustrated and after you beat it in 20 min you don't have more to play :(

    I'll give the ultra nightmare a spin…

I know I'm a bit late to the show, started playing this just a couple of days ago. Dem' visuals, dem' animations <3 Showed the intro for my sister yesterday, it wasnt until I picked up the armor in the second room she realised the cutscene had stopped.

This will probably differ depending on where you live, but let me tell you about my recent experience with the DLC. I was eager to play it, but here comes the kicker, it's impossible. You literally buy something you cannot play. Here's why:

Doom offers several game modes but only TDM is being played. I tried to find players in matchmaking for the other ones, but I got nothing. Now, if you only want to play the Unto the Evil maps, you can do so in a mix of all the modes. But seeing as how everybody plays TDM, the matchmaking doesn't work. So, I tested this spread out over several days and on different times (morning, midday, evening and night) but again, I got nothing. Eventually I decided to time it while doing household choirs. I returned 30 minutes later and the matchmaking still didn't manage to find enough players (even though 3 is the minimum).

There's no option for hosting your own maps or playing with bots. With means the only way for me to access the new maps is to play TDM and hope that a new map pops up in rotation. I played for 5 hours and got one game on a new map. It's the equivalent of buying a new car, but not being allowed to take it home with you. Instead you have to wait outside your house, days on end, in the hope that the dealer will drive by and let you do a quick round around the block. I'm really pissed off about this because the maps look great and that one round I did play, was a much better experience due to overall better map design (not just visually).

They said in June that they would update the MP with features like private matches and a vanilla mode. But that's 3 months ago and the game is out for 5 months. I can only imagine that they've run into some serious problems with the MP framework, which is apparently P2P and overloaded with cheaters. I hope it gets sorted out soon otherwise there won't be anybody left to play the MP with.

I'm still baffled as to why they decided to do multiplayer DLC only. The multiplayer is one of the worst I've ever played. The solo campaign is the best solo campaign I've played since Painkiller. Why are they working on the multiplayer at all? Man I want a solo DLC so bad, I'd give my kidney just to play through new maps and fight new monsters with new weapons.

Arcade mode, deathmatch, private matches and custom settings are finally coming this month!
