The cyberdemon still looks like some bad guy mutant from gears of war or something.

Check the video for some new stuff.
Look man, I'm insanely hyped for this game, I see a lot of comments going like "uhhh, I see no innovation in gameplay!". The way I see it, old is the new gold. This is exactly what I wanted a Doom game to be, oldschool fast, no reload, demons everywhere just plain fun!
Totally agree. It looks like they actually sat down and thought this one through, not just "ok let's make a AAA shooter and call it Doom 4"
Been playing some Brutal DOOM lately, so this is gonna be sick.

Now that's a tagline!
@BJA, any news on the editor/SDK/possibilities of importing textures/models, etc?
-
Maybe is the weapon design, the monsters, but I'm not feeling it. Not yet.

I really love the look of the hell maps this time around, but I'm not feeling the particular clean look this scene is going for. This is all very hard to judge from a screenshot of course, but for this particular IP, I prefer the grittier look of what we saw before or from doom 3.
If you remember, in Doom there were clean rooms too occasionally using "silver" textures.

Sorry, don't have any updates on that matter.

From the Game Informer article:
Both the BFG and Chainsaw are reaction weapons ala melee and grenades in other games. Both need ammo/fuel so you can't just spam the chainsaw like you could in the past.
Secrets and exploration are back. It's amazing how happy that makes me.
There is a character progression system, athough it's via item pickups rather than XP or Wolfenstein's challenge-based system.

Some new footage, showing some more screenshots and a new environment setting.
-
Ok, this looks so pimpin'

I'm really liking the new direction you guys went in! Looks great!

Did you guys read the last part about the singleplayer campaign? Doubt is being destroyed, hope is being rebuild. Just announce a full SDK for the PC crowd and we've got a winner!

Think they'd rather push Snap Map. When you don't give the community the same tools the devs used to me that's kind of console-y and insulting to the intelligence of the community.
Then again, I'm speculating that we will never get a real SDK. And Snap Map does look fun, but it's not going to be the genuine article the devs used and so it seems rather hand-holdy and middling for actual mods. More like the stuff Halo 3 used to have, fun for a few hours, at least.

yeah is sorta counter-intuitive, but none of the games that offered a simplified editor built up a substantial community (at least that's my impression)

Ok I like how the game looks in these two screenshots. Warming slightly. Gun model in first shot too big, though.
