I like the caco (although they look kinda sleepy haha) and revenant. The zombies look like they are mutants from Rage. The Cyberdemon? Is it? I don't know looks like it is a boss from Darksiders and the Mancubus is something from Quake 4. It just seems so all over the shop with no real coherent "These are daemons!" design.

YES!!! Man, being there live when this thing was being shown is up there with the best experiences I've ever had, people were just loosing their shit over this!

That's proper Doom gameplay. It's very faithful to the original first two Doom games. Although Doom 3 is very near and dear to my heart, this kind of faster paced gameplay is more of what people would expect from a Doom game. Fast, violent, loads of demons and badass guns and I love how open the levels seem to look like, there seems to be loads and loads of replayability just because the level design seem to offer much more than just corridors.

I understand some of the hate it's been getting, It's Doom, the expectations are so huge it's impossible to appeal to everyone, I feel they're trying really hard to check every single checkbox they can tho. Also, people need to remember this is their E3 demo.

Also... Them mod tools man, I am REALLY hyped about them, I've only seem a few seconds of them but I was really impressed about those scripting tools as well! This is gonna be awesome.

That's awesome, they didn't make the same mistake they did with Rage's late mod tools and megatextures that nobody could render because nobody have access to a rendering farm at home.

Judging by the screens and the video, what Carmarck said years ago about Doom running at 30fps with ultra heavy graphics doesn't apply to this new doom.

This new doom is a lot like brutal doom, full of gore everywhere, which is what doom is about.

Maybe it's the double barreled shotgun, but Doom looks Bulletstormish ( you can say that i think ), which is why i'm gonna buy that game. Doom 3 was rather slower, and more focused on the atmosphere. The new Doom looks very promising imho, especially the hell level.

The tool is impressive but... will you be able to do more on PC? Create your own "tiles"?

Speaking of D3, I'm really sad they didn't brought over the on-weapon ammo indicator. Not the HUD is cluttered, but I think that was more immersive.

I really hope they make the AI like in older DooM: No waypoint-paths or anything. Once they hear or see you, they start wandering around and could end up anywhere trying to look for you or if getting in trouble with other hell's forces (monster-infighting).

Weird seeing all that powersuit crysis thing mixed with borderlands loot explosions labeled as a Doom game. Really, really weird. Looks fun though.

They got a year of dev time left. Let's hope they read the comments everywhere and address some of them. Especially enemy design and AI could use a bump!

Yeah the loot exploding out of them like a pinata was rather off putting to me. Just feels like they are meshing everything from popular games that people like hoping everyone will like it because it's familiar.

I dunno, this didn't blow my mind, looks like any other gory fps

It's really hard to put a finger on what throws it off to me but it doesn't look like a unified thing imo, instead it feels more like a mishmash of ideas. I guess I'll have to play before making judgments but that does look uninteresting, specially the monsters.

It looks like someone played too much Brutal Doom then modded Doom 3 and remade the demons to look like they were from Gods Of War or something. Ugh.

I actually think this looks alright, looks like an action packed, gory shooter. Doesn't really bother me how well it ties into the original Doom, as long as it's fun in it's own right. The one thing that bothered me is the enemies highlighting as you shoot them, I guess this was done to show that they are ready to be melee'd though. There is a big emphasis on melee'ing too, hopefully they have loads of different animation variants so it doesn't become too stale, saw a couple repeat in that demo alone.

It's called WIP footage, I'm sure you're familiar with the concept! :P

I think I'd be worried more about gameplay getting stale if the trailer represents everything you can and will do in the game. But hey, at least I can get the feeling of playing the full game by watching the trailer on repeat for 8 hours. Score!

Snapmap looks cool though, looking forward to all the penis shaped maps that will eventually come (out)
