Tropes vs Women in Video Games

    I hope you guys put in for my kickstarter video series I am creating. Men in videogames: Where are the fat guys?

    My starting goal is $200,000 so i can afford a green cloth and a couple copies of double dragon

    When the skinny men of MapCore unite to talk about how obesitas isn't real and isn't worth talking about, especially in the game industry, you're all sending a message to other MapCore community members -- don't post, don't participate, your feelings aren't valid.

    I think that's okay in EOT because that's the special space for it; I avoid EOT and I'm fine with it.

    But if you do it out here, in public, keep in mind that people are going to see this, and you're making someone like me feel less welcome here. What, so I'm going to have to start avoiding the "Gaming Discussion" forums too? I wonder how the fat guys of MapCore feel?

    I'm not saying "censor" your opinions; feel as skinny as you want. But just know that there's a chilling effect on others you're intimidating with that attitude. A consequence. And really, you end up looking tactless.

    Don't worry, no one is going to speak-up and complain because they feel intimidated. They'll just leave.

    I guess you missed the point. You are just repeating the same thing you posted earlier in the thread. I think you feel more threatened by the fact that you backed a person who you are now seeing has no validity. I think it's pretty sad that you must avoid anywhere or anyone that disagrees with you. I guess if you want to live in a box with your opinions echoing all around you, that's your prerogative.

    I have to say though, that your sentence about how no one else that agrees with you will speak up because my text is so intimidating, is some serious bullshit. I think its hilariously ironic that you would label all those people to be exactly like you (I guess that calls back to the echo chamber). It's also just covering yourself if no one else chimes in with your same point of view.

    I think this video invalidates any claims that the princess is always the victim... hope everyone is happy now and we can all go home.

    I, for one, and very impressed with csyver's patience. I got sick of the ridiculous goalpost shifting in this thread and decided to go learn something practical like minecraft engineering instead.

    I don't want to reignite the whole thing, but when I see this kind of video made BY a game developer, I can't help but think that MAYBE the industry as a whole needs to grow up... Joke or no joke, that was horrible...

    Yeah they do need to grow up no doubt. However since when does one company represent the whole industry (I fucking bet half the people at Overkill are cringing at that video as well). You guys really need to drop this generalization shit. It doesn't fly in mainstream society for sex,race or religion and it sure as fuck doesn't fly here either.

    No I don't think, because I'm not some child that assumes a sample of something equates to the entirety of something. Since when does a tiny minority of the games industry (this is actual not even the realm of "games industry" this is the advertisement industry) represent tens of thousands of developers? Please answer that question because I'm dying to hear the answer.
