Very valid points, my initial comments were more of an knee jerk reaction to when I was first reading the review. Anyway, as always there were drama on the twitters after the review was posted

Who does the CGI anyway because they are always top notch. Is it in house? I especially like the intro of the first Witcher.
I believe it's done by the skilled people at Platige Image. They've done several superb trailers for CD.
-
Our earlier cinematics were indeed handled by Platige, however this latest one was done by the guys at Digic
-
Digic kicked ass !

My pre-order was changed to a GOG key. They claim CD Projekt is forcing them to sell GOG keys. Same as with Ubi and Far Cry 4, selling the Uplay version remarkably cheaper than the Steam version. A pity really

This is not about the game not being worth the cash. It's just these kinda practices that I dislike. Probably a publisher thing.

Am liking this so far, so glad the initial section is a lot more simplified and stripped back for the newcomer, unlike the second game. The world and the characters seem interesting and the story does a good job as well of keeping things simple to follow (at least for now!), only slight issues are the camera (at times) and maybe the complicated menus for crafting and collecting, but am now really looking forward to delving further into it

Steam pre-load complete. Wife and daughter are going to bed. 2 hours left. 3 days free from work. Which leaves me with:

Just got back home after finals, got my pc set up, let's decrypt this shit
-
I don't have any strength to play this tonight
Just came back from Launch Event, and last night I slept less than 4 hours, Witcher 3 tomorrow -
Really liking this so far. Don't know if it's the appeal of the open world or the way how you get thrown in this grim story but it clicked with me right away. Something which wasn't the case with the first two games.

finding the camera lags behind a bit and is a bit awkward in battle, but im sure ill get used to. muuuuuch softer entry rather than the baptism by fire of W2.
save points are a little spaced out as well, i think the 50minutes i have on it so far are the first 10 minutes repeated

loving it otherwise! ive lowered my settings a bit for more consistent FPS, but you can just tell it would look amazing on a beast of a computer.
-
You can save the game anytime jackophant. New save from menu or F5 for quick save.
-
I'm really liking it so far, it fixed all the stuff that prevented me from getting into Witcher 2. Holy shit it looks incredible, though I need to lower my settings a bit for consistent 60 fps.
