Yeah, that's true. The only game I want to play is the new Killzone but that isn't a system seller or a definitive must have. Because they are so scarce it has more become a "must buy" feeling instead of "need to have". Kinda like women and shoe sales.

The first game I'm actually looking forward to playing on the PS4 is Thief and that's still months away.

Yep, I tried that. It's plugged directly in to the TV.

I did a bit of investigating online and apparently it's down to the way certain TVs handle the HDCP handshake to verify the connection from HDMI. Some can display a black/blank screen whereas others can display a quick green flash. Lots of people seem to have the same thing, even with different devices and it was quite common on the PS3 too. I tried it on a different TV and it displayed fine, so that confirmed it wasn't an issue with the console at least.

This solved a lot of HDMI problems for me (PS3, PS4 and XB1 all hooked up to one TV with ONE crappy HDMI port). Your results may vary, of course.

Might get one of those myself. How long have you had it? I've bought two of the same kind of HDMI switch over the years and each one died after like a year, pissed me off.

Yikes. The one I got wasn't too expensive but only had it since Nov when PS4/XB1 arrived. Hopefully this one will last longer than yours did. Right now it's primarily a PS3/PS4 switchbox, but soon I hope to turn on the XB1 and actually use it again.

You know, I had given up on getting a PS4 and upgraded my PC instead (like I mentioned before). Today, out of the blue, we got a call that my PS4 had arrived. I was confused since I cancelled my preorder. But I had tried so many places that I forgot all about this one. Unfortunately I used the budget on my PC already. Luckily I'm blessed with the most awesome wife ever and now I'm looking at this:

Nah man. It gives me something to do until Thief. Got it cheap from someone else and it's definitively worth 30 euros for the eye candy alone imo.

AC4 is definitely way better than I would've dreamed of, after having played every single game in the series then I completely written that franchise off, but they've actually managed to make it feel really fresh. By far the PS4 game I've spent the most time on~~

Also, Outlast is out on PS Plus today (that is, free if you're a PS Plus subscriber). Started playing it on PC when it was released, but never got around to finishing it, definitely going to give it another chance here.

The Killzone mp is pretty good imo. Highly recommend AC4 though, I hated the others but agree with Mazy, this one feels fresh and there's so much to do and explore. Definitely gives off a 'next-gen' feel compared to the other games out at the minute.

Except that AC4 is really a PS3 game ported to PS4

So the only decent game on PS4 is in fact a PS3 game.

Great tip man. Outlast on my big screen is awesome. Killzone is also pretty.
