    Because I do agree there's not a lot of compelling reasons for getting a next-gen console right away unless you're really looking forward to try them out. But there's not a lot of games yet, which is a shame but it's always the same with every new generation of consoles.

    Above all, I am looking forward to getting a new console, but just not yet. I think next year we're really gonna see the new consoles pick up in a big way, with the release of titles that have only been made for the new consoles, and not just ported over. Exciting stuff

    It is worth waiting and deciding which console to get and see whats to come before you spend the cash since the leap isn't huge in games, but the consoles are a huge leap forward. Xbox One isn't for me so I went with the PS4, and the only reason I got it early is because I get 100 bucks off and a free year of psn, and AC Blackflag is amazing on it!

    Also, as an artist myself, playing Killzone has been extremely interesting and eye opening in the sense that it is the first truly PBR game that I've played and it does make a difference, it's not 100% there yet, but that's the beauty of it. It almost allowed me to take a peak at the future when all games will take advantage of this tech and when I myself will be working with it.


    Btw pogo, do not underestimate Knack! it's a great game specially for kids, my wife beat it in under two days, and she very rarely gets hooked into video games so surely they did something right.

    Killzone is getting pretty mediocre reviews; Infamous: Second Son isn't out on PS4 yet, and there is no Uncharted game for PS4. 'Why exactly should I have bought a PS4 on release?', is what I was saying. Don't you dare say Knack, lol.


    I'm going to be getting an Xb1/PS4 at some point, because I want to play with my mates when we all upgrade. But I just don't see the appeal at the moment. And the lack of activity on this thread might be because a lot of other people feel the same way.


    I known it's your opinion and I respect that but I have to disagree with some points. It's a graphical update for sure but the evolution is found in other places. Think about better online integration, the ability to record, share, invite and play together. More indies, a bigger step towards digital distribution. Touch pad, second screen, streaming, Gaikai cloud services, Playstation 4 eye, added motion detection and inevitable voice control (like the Xbox One). If any generation after felt like the future, this one is it.


    Plus, like always, no launch line up is ever really convincing. I pre-ordered the Playstation for what's coming and not for what's already there

    Yeap, I agree. Whereas previous generations "leaped" in the graphical aspects when transitioning, this one did it way more in the other aspects that are just as important. It's good times man and we only saw the tip of the iceberg.

    In my opinion buying on release is pointless, it paying a premium for honestly very little benefit. I certainly will not be buying a PS4 until a bunch of new games are out, MGS, Uncharted, Infamous etc.Until then I will keep playing PC games and PS3 games.

    Here, the PS4 is sold out everywhere. They are going for 700 to 800 euro's on the black market. I'm seriously considering selling my pre-order. Because with the money I make I can buy 2 PS4's a couple of months later.

    Funny how my ps4 game collection is accumulating. I almost want to hold off so I have a nice PSPlus backlog of ps4 games.

    Looks like my preorder (yeah I only had one, stupid me) didn't work out. It's probably going to arrive sometime in the beginning of December, and that's even with my preorder having been made on June 15th. Not taking any chances tho, so I'm gonna queue up early Friday at a place that's gonna have some in stock where it's first come first serve based. If that fails I'll just buy a WiiU with Super Mario 3D World


    Guess this is what you get for ordering it anywhere but Amazon.

    But OMG, i had preorder but also there was like 40-50 consoles for regular buyers, before open there was like 200-250 ppl outside waiting lol, the consoles were gone in like 30 sec's
