Man I still can't believe the PS4 is going to cost BR 3,999 in Brazil (aproximately 1800 USD). There's no way you can justify that price by import taxes and shipping alone, if you take into account that the XBONE is going to cost almost half of that price in BRL. That price is almost double of what I made monthly a few years ago.
There's something deeply wrong with how Sony treats Brazilian customers, even though they are one of the largest consumers of Playstations (most of them smuggled from Paraguay where the taxes are a lot cheaper). I guess Sony just doesn't care, since they are making money anyway whether you buy it in Brazil or Paraguay...
Hell, it's cheaper to book a flight to Miami, buy a PS4 there and pay all the import taxes than it is to buy one at an official store o___O
It's half shocking because the same thing happens with iphones, cellphones, tablets, laptops, TVs, etc. But I don't remember seeing a single product in which the brute currency conversion gives a multiplier of 10!
I can only think about two things: there are few units, just enough to tell the market that the product is there and not delayed; and incredible insurance rate behind it, either due to some financial risks or costs associated to transport and delivery, or even both.
[edit] wrong. According to a brazilian lawyer, the calculation does, indeed, include absurd taxes. The profit earned by the store/seller is much lower than the taxes alone.
Another plus about the PS4 "DualShock 4 compatible with PlayStation 3" but sadly only if u plug it in.

Exclusives? Yeah, but there's obviously many more to keep ya busy till next year.
Neither console's launch line-up really speaks to me that much, but that's kind of normal. It's certainly a lot stronger than the absolute shit the 360 and PS3 launched with at least. I have to admit though, Zoo Tycoon being a launch title on the XBone is a bit of a fuck. If it gets amazing reviews I'm going to be financially raped very soon. 
I think my first games will be Killzone, Battlefield, and Ass Creed. Interesting to see Minecraft on there, I bet that'll get a lot of sales seeing as many people have heard of it but never tried it (never been on PlayStation until now).

Oh c'mon dux!! Man, I don't get your hate for consoles and your PC fanatism. Not only we're all gamers here on mapcore, we're also all PC gamers, we're all under the same roof. And I don't see the harm of people getting excited about a new toy, looking forward to something is as exciting as it is fun -- and I don't think none of us here would need to or would want to live out of soup and water because they bought a $400 console, and if they did then they would have their priorities all fucked up.
Let people be excited about the stuff they want to be excited.

I bought 1600$ of sony stock. The deal is if I make enough, I'll buy a PS4. If I lose money I'll have to sell myself or something.
