I hope it's cool to you guys, I added the "https://www.mapcore.org for maps, help and fun chat lmao!" to my aim_shootout map I made few months ago.

    Subbed all the Mapcore maps.

    cs_siege and de_favela most popular!

Anyone know what most popular refers to? Most comments, most played? Workshop seems pretty awesome so far.

Maybe we should have a "Mapcore Collection" where we add maps made by.. Mapcore's people. How's that?

Sorry for bumping, but it's not needed to make a new topic for this, I guess.

New update for CSGO has been released, including cs_militia and some major changes to the hostage rescue scenario!

    counter-strike.net

Interested to see how this will affect hostage maps in general

It affect hostage map a lot, as now it's more dynamic. More hostages placement and picking one will add 1 minute to the round.

It's quite fun, judging by the hour or so of it I played.

I tested militia during my lunch time and it was very fun ! I like this new system but the thing I don't like is when you have a hostage with you, you are not constraint in your movements / fire rate...but this is a good system update.

And, yes, militia is well updated too, visually nice and the new passages are well placed !

And now it finally makes sense, because before the hostages were able to walk. So why did they remain in captivity instead of trying to escape somehow (after the CT had broken into the T zone/ whatever)? IMHO now it's more believable. They are blindfolded and they can't walk, so it makes sense to carry them one by one instead of rescuing all of them at once and winning the round.

It makes the matches more strategic as well. The teams have to consider rescuing the hostages scattered around the map at the same time and going to the rescue zone by different routes (thus making more difficult for the T to follow and kill them), or grabbing a hostage one by one, using the rest of the team as a shield to make sure that the rescue would be done safely.

    Also, what 3Dnj said.

[bear in mind that I only played a few maps with bots after the patch]

Are the blindfolds glued to their faces? Only their hands are tied up. Why not hold E to remove the blindfold and then the hostage follows like before? While its cool to see they are playing with the formula, this is not a cure-all fiction wrapper. I also only played a few rounds with bots so I couldn't tell my hostage carrying speed relative to normal but it didn't seem drastically slower. I thought it might have more of a burden like only being able to use your pistol while carrying a hostage but hey that probably would suck. The few times I looked at online servers they were all defusal or custom fy_iceworld servers . It does seem like they are making some smart changes to condense the maps!

Jesus guys, let's not get bogged down in fiction.

I'll make it easy for you: The hostages have been tortured and are very weak. So they need to be carried. Or they had too much candy to eat.

Or... they forgot how to walk!

This reminded me of that Family Guy's episode where Peter Griffin forgets how to sit down:

Rather let's dismiss the problem just because it's one of our favorite developers? I just saw a weak official fiction wrapper and someone praising it for being bulletproof. They could have tried harder as evident by your examples. In other news, the new Militia is pretty fun! If anything I think the new hostage mechanic plays more like a CT with a big orange flag on their head than the old frustrating method of T's chasing a hostage as it follows CT's around corners.

The hostage update seems intersting but... I dunno, what about e-sports? There were rules and conventions based upon the original rules, sudden changes like these don't seem to help.

    Interested in trying it out.

I noticed that the round ends right after the CT rescues a single hostage. It's weird. I think simply adding x round time would be better gameplay-wise.

I've actually started a cs_ map because of these changes. I don't have the time to wrestle with de_ layouts so I'm glad that cs_ is more of an option now.

Well now it's more Ct friendly and it works more than a de_ style now. Looks like a mix between original cs_ and as_ vip style.

Ho ! And you can make a vip style map now !!!!! With an hostage you need to carry from ct spawn to an exit... God this should be awesome :D
