    Hey guys,

I need a new GPU, currently rocking a 260GTX which has done me proud but with certain upcoming games needing DX11 to play as a minimum, I need an upgrade. I originally picked the 260GTX at the time as it was in the good but not bank breaking price range, a similar card would be appreciated. Budget of around £150.

    nVidia preferred.

    Suggestions/recommendations please!

^ 660 ti is probably the best card you can get. might be in the upper end of your price range, but it'll last for a while...

GTX 660 is awesome. I guess it's the cheapest Kepler with 2GB memory. Bottom line but from high end shelf. Go get it!

660Ti is only a bit better (about 15-20%) but it's more expensive. I think there's no need to spend lots of money for a card that can be replaced in next 2-3 years.

the Ti is good because it halves the power consumption

So the 660 and even better

    http://www.techspot.com/review/572-nvi…660/page11.html

As you can see in the test, 660 is the best GTX in the test. And operating temp. in stress is about 61 deg.cel., 660Ti is at 77 deg.cel.

    Here's a funny fact:

660Ti is about $280, 660 is $230 and let's take a look at the benchmark:

In BF3 you'll get 7 FPS for $50. Or 4 FPS more on Skyrim:

Now the best part. After overclocking the GTX 660 you'll get same FPS in Deus Ex as 660Ti:

My opinion: save this $50 for something else

i wasn't saying it was more power, i just said it cut power consumption by 50% (thereby also overheating less etc.)

I have a GTX 670 at work, and I can REALLY vouch for it, jesus christ this thing makes the most heavy game run like butter.

Still not as good as my Riva TNT2 64mb

I think this thread is pretty conclusive, time to start hunting for a decently priced 660 or 660TI...and another 8GB RAM...and a SSD..

I've grown soft over the years and getting max fps out of the card is not what makes me buy a card anymore. (ofcourse it matters though).

How silent the fan is counts more imho. So basically how warm does it get?

yeah, but there are major differences between brands and fan quality.. although these things can easily be replaced with non stock stuff. still bustin' balls with my hd 4890 tho i love that thing!
