Miraculously, Halo 4 doesn't seem to have it's own thread yet. New launch trailer:

Not terribly excited about this one to be honest, even though I generally love the Halo games (Legendary difficulty lives up to it's name).

I'll still play it, but I've yet to see anything to make me really excited about this one.

I wasn't excited either since Bungie left. But Microsoft is pumping a lot of money and talent into it. The E3 trailer looked really awesome and all the movies they made for it so far show a lot of potential. The coop multiplayer mode especially draws my attention. So I'm going to give this the benefit of the doubt.

    Haha.

I've never actually played any of the Halo games after the PC version of the original, which I thoroughly disliked. Am I really missing out on that much?

Playing Halo 3 or Reach on Legendary showcases some of the best AI in the business. Some of the best fun I've had with a shooter to date come from those games, plus they're also terrific co-op games.

Anyway, I know it's popular to hate on the Halo games, but they're solid craftsmanship~

I'm probably biased since I've played all of them but Mazy's spot on. Excellent AI, very challenging, great coop fun, awesome multiplayer, fun weapons, great story, design, etc. Halo has it all.

Plus, it didn't follow the shooter trend of becoming a on rail game with one scripted event and cutscene after the other while shooting hordes of retarded grunts in tight linear levels surrounded by invisible walls

I might give some of the current-gen Halo games a try. I really didn't enjoy the original, but that was a long time ago and comparatively basic when put next to its successors I imagine.

I'm not really excited by this trailer...

But I'm curious about this new Halo. 343 Industries seems to do a good job. The game looks really nice currently.

I loved Halo: combat evolved. Haven't played any of the others.

    Also that trailer was great.

I played a Halo on the 360 about 3 years ago, I couldn't stand it. A combination of shooting those little children aliens over and over with a 360 controller was really tedious, I just can't use controllers

    +1

    Also, yes! lol

I might play this one because so much good talent worked on it.

First Halo and Reach were my favorites. In fact, I was very surprised at how much I liked reach after being disappointed with Halo 2, 3 and ODST.

Meanwhile, anyone watching the Forward Unto Dawn web series? you can see it free on Youtube. It may not be the best acting in the world, but I actually am starting to like it, plus it's FREE. Nice.

I tried to play Halo Reach recently but got bored to death after 30 minutes or so. Multiplayer seems fun though...

Agreed. Although for me, the best Halo movie is still Neill Blomkamp his short titled Halo: Landfall.

Just watched them all in one go, not bad actually, especially the last one.
