I actually quite like COD and Battlefield, but I don't like Battlefield's attempts to be like COD because it usually ends up being a middle ground between the two that isn't as fun as either.

Thanks for the videos. Looks gorgeous, congrats to RickD and the others working on it.
Flood Zone looks really interesting and watching the gameplay really made me wanting to shoot some. My only complaint would be the boat physics, especially the rubber boat pivots instead of veering.
Not convinced by the HUD also, those .BMP overlays of the unlocks really annoy me, they contrast too much. I know it's probably the whole point... is it possible to disable those messages on PC?

I have to say, 77 euro isn't bad. You could also buy the regular version with the first expansion for 40 euro at G2Play. Premium will drop eventually so in the long run, it's a better deal.

OMFG EA Poland is soooo fucking retired, they don't know if here in poland we will have language selection or only polish (which is really BAD guys, really BAD !)
-
heh, retired.

LOL, i was writing it on rage and fast !
"retarded"

Thrik, I give you some PS4 footage:

I didn't see it dip below 40FPS.

Looks really good, much better than the current-gen fail versions. I'm worried they're not making any use of the precise non-stick aiming they could implement with the PS4 controller, that'll be such a missed opportunity if they don't and might swing me towards waiting until I can get the PC version.

Also, fucking lmao at all those PC master race losers in the comments.

Looks like both consoles are pretty close, but IMO the PS4 has a definite edge due to its higher resolution (900p compared to the XBone's 720p, although both are disappointingly still short of 1080p) and more stable frame rate. Otherwise, both have small pros and cons that aren't such a big deal.
I guess the big question for me is still how nice the console versions feel. Has any info been released about input options? Can mice and keyboards be used, or stuck with pads? If pads, what about Kinect/Move enhancements for precise aiming? Either I suck at searching or this basic stuff is hard to find out about — and the answers could determine whether I buy a PS4 or XBone first, lol.

the guy on the forbes blog said it right: people need to stop whining about resolution when you buy a console, that they're gonna watch on a tv that's half way through the living room... i'd rather have great shading than big resolution.
-
Not neccessarily. I like to sit right in front of my TV in the living room when I'm playing games by myself.
-
I sit like 1-2 meters from my TV, so in that case resolution does matter. Though I agree that for most people that aren't man-children like me it probably isn't that much of an issue.
-
Lower resolution usually means more visible aliasing, and not a small difference either. I think it's perfectly reasonable to want at least actual HD. Anti-aliasing minimises the damage but I doubt developers will prioritise that over more frames.
I don't really care how the average asshole plays games or what they want. I just know what I like, and that's all those discussing resolution are doing — saying what they prefer.
But I wasn't trying to bring up resolution as a major issue, just as an incidental small pro the PS4 version has (in addition to better shader effects
). -
Yeah, have my sofa in the middle of my living room so I can be closer to the TV, and I have a 65".
It's also easier on my eyes, I can read text much easier. (GTA V tiny font, i'm looking at you)

So, that speculation about PS4 holding 50% more raw computing power is manifesting in BF4 in the form of 50% more pixels...
But, if they can at least push over 720p and maintain stable fps, that's already a win over previous gen with all their struggle with sub-HD, unstable fps and screen tearing or input lag.
PS: The image quality comparison done by EG is biased.
