I just think they ruined TF2 with all those updates, random weapons and those fucking hats!!!

I wish there would be a "Classic TF2 mode" where you play the game as it was before they fucked it up.

This pyro video is exactly the kind of thing I needed today. Thank you for sharing.

There's already one, look for 'vanilla' servers in the server browser.

That's interesting, might re-download it then.

Agree that all the crazy shit added to TF2 has more or less ruined it. One of TF2's fundamental goals seemed to be simplifying the experience and avoiding the game becoming borderline inaccessible like TFC was, and I think decisions like taking away grenades and repurposing the Medic so he wasn't an all-purpose killing machine were brave but wise moves. That's kind of rendered null and void now they've added like 50,000 variations of each weapon and countless other stuff, though.

Nice to know a vanilla mode exists, but I doubt it's anywhere nearly as popular. I'm just glad I had my 600(!) hours or so of fun with the game, got way more than my money's worth!

Well, I wouldn't completely dismiss the new additions, but it's a bit much at the moment.

It can become pretty unintuitive some times when you have RPG:ish stats on so many various items and weapons (5% this stat, 2x that stat, this new ability is unlocked when equipped etc). Still, TF2 has always been fun throughout and quite a few of the new additions really add to the game.

Yeah thrik, I feel the same. I remember I had 250 hours with the soldier alone.

it's still an awesome game and vanilla has quite a few servers. I like the idea of alternative weapons, but yeah, it is confusing then you join a match and everyone has new weapons you never heard of.

I still love TF2, but I'll admit that it was better when it wasn't quite as clowny as it is now.

I'll reopen the game (to play this time haha) with the new update, any chance we can make a mapcore play ?

Without all these new additions tf2 would probably have died out like most mp games do after a while, I usually get the tf2 fever after 3-4 months without playing, and there is always fresh new content to discover.

TF2 was rubbish on release as an actual game and amazing as an art adventure, now it is just beyond cringeworthy with the silly hats and unlocks. To imagine that Team Fortress actually used to be a a high skilled competitive game when games were men and men were ass spies. Whoa.

valve movie-maker thing: extrapolate what people have done with garrys mod and than just imagine what crazy shit people will make with this

meet the pryo: very cool but meet the spy still reigns supreme ! the ocd inside of my head feels very PLEASED that there is a video for all classes now though !

tf2 hats and weapons: i find it impossible to keep up with all the new content that gets added but it makes me happy to see that the game is thriving.

The new Doomsday map/mode is pretty badass, a much faster paced capture the flag. It's interesting: you want to be a fast class to get the flag first, but then you have to be tough enough to take hits while you're standing on the platform waiting for it to go up. It keeps the scout from being the only optimum choice. And the delay at the opening means you don't necessarily have to sprint and be first at the flag, there's usually a duel in the flag zone, you can choose to avoid the flag area all together and ambush the other team if they grab the flag. It's worth jumping in just to check that mode out, I think.
