Because of pointing spoiler out, watched only half trailer, but fit the Ground Zeroes with the sales. Last year demo of the sandbox(?) interested me A LOT.

Ah man, this is going to be incredible. Spoiler for trailer and previous games:

Hearing Major Zero's voice again after so long was really sweet in the trailer. He's become this near-mythical character in the lore since the events of MGS3, whose actions led to the world being brought to its knees in MGS4, and ripping Big Boss's world apart in Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes. I hope there's some sweet-ass scene involving his return, even if by this point he's going to be like 75 and probably not the primary villain.

Barely heard Snake talk though, hope Sutherland just didn't do his required lines and then called it a day. Always enjoyed the hours of banter you could listen to on the voice coms

Never really played much MGS past the first one. Skipped through that video randomly, watching small chunks of gameplay, and I saw a dog taking a piss, said dog then made a hilarious distraction by running up to a guy who seemed to be scared to shoot him, I saw a woman's boobs jiggling everywhere (is she in the army? wtf?), and a soldier being airlifted off in a massive... balloon thing? MGS reminds me of what they did with the Red Alert series; the first couple of games were fairly serious with slightly weird bits in places, and then the next one they just went all out on the weirdness.

    Still, looks fun :)

The gameplay video is awesome actually. I like the presentation. ^^

And clearly, they have invested into real russian/slavic synchronisation actors. :P

The last stand of Kojima for Konami and the end of Konami as a console developer. Sad, very sad. Read this for more info.

What an infuriatingly unfair way for such an esteemed auteur, his team, and indeed his life's work to come to an end.

Kotaku has an article as well, same source though

    • Kojima Productions, the studio behind the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V (and long famous as a brand of its own), is now simply known as “Number 8 Production Department.” The computers in this section, Nikkei says (and as we reported earlier this year), are allegedly not connected to the internet and are only able to send internal messages.
    • Nikkei reports that employees leaving the company offices during their lunch break are having their absences monitored with time cards. Those who stay out too long are having their names announced throughout the company.
    • That there are cameras in the office corridors that aren’t there for security, but rather to monitor the movements of Konami’s own employees.
    • That most Konami employees do not have their own permanent company email addresses. Staff who must deal with people outside the company, such as sales and PR do; however, everyone else routinely has their address randomised and changed every few months. (Note: Konami employee emails are typically a few letters followed by a string of numbers, but this random email changing has been going on at Konami for years. A while back, one Konami employee told me this was done to prevent headhunting. Over the years, I have seen developers with company email addresses, but this might have changed recently.)
    • That Konami game developers who aren’t seen as useful are reassigned to jobs as security guards, cleaning staff at the company’s fitness clubs or roles at a pachi-slot machine factory. This includes not just junior staff, but producers who have worked on well-known game titles. In 2013, Asahi News, one of Japan’s largest newspapers, ran an interview with a former Konami staffer who allegedly went from game development to working in Konami’s pachi-slot factory, causing him to experience severe depression.
    • That one former employee, upon announcing on Facebook that they were leaving Konami and had got a new job elsewhere, had their post monitored. Nikkei says remaining Konami staff who “liked” the post were all reshuffled within the company.

Not sure if I want to give Konami any more money after reading that

It's absolutely horrendous, I can barely think of worse conditions. I feel so conflicted as I want to honour the team's legacy and work creating this excellent game, which wouldn't exist without Konami's support. At the same time, the leadership's behaviour is despicable and I definitely won't be providing the company with money ever again after this final contribution, which I bloody hope the development staff (or at least Kojima) get some kind of royalties from.

Make sure to let them know that tho, otherwise is not as effective.

I bought recently Ground Zeroes that was highly discounted, but haven't yet installed it.
