The Elder Scrolls MMO

I want to say something cynical...but I won't. This may actually make sense? I've already been hearing the pros and cons but at least as an IP it makes more sense to be made into an MMO than lots of other IP.

Hmmm. I am very excited about this, but equally, I wonder how it will play as an MMO. I love Elder Scrolls for just sort of creating your own story and having fun. If there are 50 million other people doing the exact same thing as me on the same server, will it detract from the experience a bit? I hope not.

Hmm, I'm not blown away by those shots. And the thought of playing in third person depresses me.

Also, it doesn't look much like Elder Scrolls Those shots could easily be from something like Lord of the Rings Online.

You know, listening to the description and pretend you don't know of Zenimax/Bethesda, it sounds VERY SIMILAR to Guild Wars 2. However, it's rumored that Elder Scrolls Online will use the engine that makes people back away fast : Hero Engine, the same engine that SW:TOR runs on. SW:TOR is not the best showcase for the Hero Engine (or as an MMO, dohohoho) and people know this, and ultimately avoids Elder Scrolls Online if that's the engine they go for. But then it's Biowares fault for buying an engine that wasn't even finished, where the developers of Hero Engine pleaded that it would be a bad idea to use it as it was

Wait, what?

Seriously, this looks NOTHING like Elder Scrolls. Regardless of what you think about this being an MMO, it just simply doesn't read as Elder Scrolls to me.

All these fantasy MMO type things kind of look alike to me. Sounds like a fairly logical step considering the intense popularity of the franchise, although that may sacrificing some of its strengths that it's always had over MMOs (ie: a more structured story and significant events).
