this doesn't do much for me in the game sense, but holy fuck if you can create city based concept art based on how you treat your city, they can take my money for this for sure.

Finally! This I think is one of the few games I don't mind being renewed.

I hope this is released soon so I can pretend I don't live in this world and get away from all my problems

I certainly hope it gets to be better than SimCity 4. I played that game just recently and it is bug riddled UX disaster.

they were waiting until they could solve non-orthogonal roads?

seriously, though...this is one of the reasons i play games. will wait for more info.

Yep, it's just unplayable on Windows 7 Funny thing is that you can play all the older Sim Cities on Win7 with no problems.

    Consider me interested in this

I am pessimistic; unless I misread the article I don't think Will Wright is behind it. SC4 is still pretty cool. But who knows maybe it will be awesome!

He's not, so I think a little pessimism is healthy. However The Sims 3 didn't have Will Wright at the helm either and IMO that was the best incarnation of the game by far, really well done in every way. :derp:

Agreed, The Sims 3 was a healthy improvement on all fronts. So my feelings towards SimCity V is please don't suck, please don't suck, please don't suck, please don't suck...

i know the whole tilt-shift thing is pretty played out, but i find something along the lines of the third shot the most appealing, conceptually (though the bldgs are a bit generic america)...

forget making it look like a real city, toys are just fine with me.

that being said, deeper controls, please.

Haha, yeah when I first saw that shot I thought 'hmm not this effect again', but when I think about it there's no more appropriate game to use it than Sim City. After all, the effect basically makes things look like miniatures and the whole concept of the game is building a toy city.

but ... but ... sim city is all about real people living in real cities

seriously though, if they basically don't focus on the sims shit that made its way into sim city 4 (and ultimately started the ball rolling for sim city societies (oh god) then the game will be awesome.

Focus on the city building, economics, politics and some purdy buildings and all will be well.
