I'm a bit sceptical. Trackmania is longtime motivating and succesfull for two reasons a) because it's damn fun to drive b) because of unlimited new tracks created by users. For a fps i would say it's easy to mess up either the gameplay or the map making. I'm not even sure the typical fps player wants unlimited maps. For most games you see them play the same 2-3 maps over and over again.

Would have prefered them to focus on Trackmania 2 which is a wasteland player wise because unlike TMU it doesnt have a free version.

Could be a cool game, but like Warby says it's pretty hard to have an opinion without having seen some footage.

    Quite a lot of potential.

I still dream the day we see a game that will top Quake 3 (or UT1) goodness.

Nice, quite curious as to how that editor actually works

    I don't know. Hmm....

I sure hope that they have more weapon variation and not just wrist-shooters. I actually really liked the song in the trailer for some reason.

I'm digging this. But it may just be excellent video editing, and a sweet song. We can only hope it is as fun as that trailer makes it feel

Hmm this could be awesome, but I want to see more about the different weapons and 1p...! And some more confined areas (Q3-ish).

To me it seems a bit like Tribes Ascend. I'm not sure if I would play this game; I guess it depends on the competetive potential.

Edit: Also I hope they are gonna have more "weapons" than what can be seen in the video because I can't really imagine any kind of deep gameplay with an armory this limited. *shrug*

not sure if i will play but i gotta applaud them for what is probably the most "tastefull" use of postfilters i have seen in ... maybe forever ?! the dof motionblur and bloom are all tweaked to a level of perfection where you dont really notice any of them but they all work in harmony to actualy improve the image s you see on screen !

    good job ! =)

Almost too good to be true actually, have you have seen motion blur even on shadows? We'll see if that tech will actually be there and running in real-time.

Prolly using some random mouse on 125Hz.

What about the game though; it really seems like there is only one weapon. That is kind of making me sad.

Edit: Looking at their website, apparently there is some kind of hitscan weapon too. Also there is a shot of the editor on there. I will wait and see, I guess.

I signed up for their BETA - not sure what the criteria is to get accepted..

    Edit2 - Some more footage:

What really makes me sad is that this game is apparently giving QuakeLive the final shot seeing the competetive community seems to move over to it. ;(

First League of Legends and now this.

Well hopefully there is more to this game than there appears to be, it has potential I know that much *fingers crossed as though people do that anymore*.

Also, I must express my disdain for League of Legends... I came from original DOTA way back... and moved to Heroes of Newerth which I vastly prefer. League of Legends is not my cup of tea. I guess that's what it comes down to. Actually at this point I kind of wish Dota 2 hadn't happened either, I've grown fond of Heroes of Newerth; the new heroes they've made, the skins some of the heroes have, and the over all feel are much more appealing to me.
