Hey, I've got a bit of a technical problem - I've got a lowpoly shape of what my geometry should look like and I want to bend an array of highpoly screws over the shape of that lowpoly original. SurfDeform doesn't work for me
anyone got an idea?

Not a max user, but are you grouping those screews or combining into one mesh ? if yes some kind of bending deformer should work

But from what I understand it that you want to place screws along an cylindrical shape? You could just select one screw, make it's pivot the same as your low poly shape, and then rotate->copy 24 copies of it on a 5º angle, I think I got that right.

Have you tried the spacing tool already? tools --> align --> spacing tool

Got it done with Graphite Modeling Tools - more or less just like a UV Projection and draw to surface.
