- "WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO RADIO THEM, SHOOT THEM INSTEAD"
Makes about as much sense as:
- "MINO DOESN'T ANSWER THE PHONE, NUKE BRAZIL"

Pretty sure they just shot the cop in the leg
None taken, just making the art here heh
. I've got my issues with the game as well. I don't mind the QTEs though for those story moments, pretty similar to Heavy Rain.
Quote from JetsetlemmingWell don't leave us hanging, explain yourself!
The cop shooting and the unintended (but they probably should've thought about it before releasing the video) implication of OWS terrorists. Is it really that hard to see anything wrong with that video? The cop shooting especially was just ridiculous.
Actually that is a good point, so I watched it again. No time to radio the cops? Is that realistic? Did the designers consult with military/police procedure experts?
In a game attempting to take on a very serious subject matter in a very serious way, I think they better get stuff like that right. And if it is very accurate for how something like this might happen, then so be it.
Still, at least it appears to deliver on what they claim it will: controversy. ![]()

Cops don't shoot using their legs. Shooting a cop in the leg doesn't really stop them from shooting the guy with the bomb, it probably actually makes it more likely because it probably doesn't help identifying that hey that guy's got a dead man switch, don't shoot him, when you're in extreme pain.
Just the line of thinking there behind that scene gets more ridiculous and insane the more I ponder on it. "Those mongoloid inbred downs syndromes in uniform down there surely can't recognize that one of the people on the bridge isn't a terrorist and they shouldn't be shot, even though there's a bunch of innocent people on the bridge running away from the terrorists that they've so far managed not to shoot, also fuck I'm not going to translate this information to fucking APE GRUNTS, who do you think I am, some kind of responsible professionally trained counter-terrorism expert? I'm not going to interact with those FUCKIN RETARDS of the NYPD below us! Just murder them so they don't shoot the guy with some C4 that will somehow explode a 150m radius because it's magic C4!" *shoots cop in leg* *he goes down instantly and dies*

If they are on the same net, then it's just a matter of getting to the same channel. On a modern radio, that means to turn a knob a few clicks. If not on the same net, it's impossible to get direct connection quickly.. However, a HQ with 1 guy with 2 or more different radios is a pretty common thing, or a liason officer. Hell, why doesn't Rainbow have the frequency for the NYPD on their radio when they are in NYC?I guess it's just a "cool feature", even though shooting friendlies isn't cool at all, no matter where you hit them.
They could have just shouted to them, since the guys were like 50 meters away :derp:
Awesome stuff! Hi everyone ![]()

Of all the things to criticize in that trailer hahahaha

yeah, but this game is titled R6, not "New Heavy Rain gun shooting ppl on da fucking bridge" the idea is cool but for new IP, i hate to look at next call of fucking shit that is called MY BELOVED Rainbow Six
I never actually ever got into Rainbow Six, the tactical screen was too confusing for me back when those games actually had a tactical screen and weren't just linear FPS's. Talking about it reminds me though, I have the GRIN made Ghost Recon game in my Steam list, and I've had it since at LEAST two christmas sales ago, and I've never actually played it. I should. ![]()
It's a cool PR move, congrats for that. As for what was shown...it's a very narrow line to tread between obnoxious BS that offends people and culturally relevant controversial subjects. I fear all of the controversy will be so watered down by Ubisoft after Walmart and Best Buy see this that they'll cut to the chase and go BOOM-explosions-everywhere-how-awesometastic-was-that. Because at the heart of this is precisely the point. If you want controversy, you need to build up to it. You need to explain why it's controversial, and take your time to have your player expect certain behaviours and then surprise them. Which goes almost entirely against action and intense gameplay where number of inputs and things happening on the screen take precedence.
Knowing how Ubisoft works and how certain topics are absolute no-go due to the visions of some of the key people in the organization, I can see a huge plot twist getting turned sideways 1 month before release and fucking all the tension out too...
Like many "fresh" angles that are hyped by game devs, the question is whether or not this angle, the controversial decision making, will impact the game in a meaningful way. Will it just consist of a linear narrative that features a lot of brutality or will the player actually be forced to make tough on-the-fly decisions which really change the course of the story/mission in question. As a gamer who's allergic to basically every entry in the series after Raven Shield, I can't help but feel slightly skeptical.
Also, like a few other people here, I felt that firing at the NYPD was a bit out of place in the video.
has anyone seen television?

the candle would probably not get blown out

a prisoners dilemma where the candle is somehow simultaneously lit and not lit

Yup, Frie! It's been a while. Cool to see what's cooking though ![]()
