Spending a lot of money in stripclubs....

This game is awesome. Played it for a couple of hours tonight, and the characters are really well written and the dialogue is actually hilarious! Good job Rockstar, this really takes it to the next level.
The environment is kinda crazy for the sheer scope of the game too. Franklin/Michael's house are so full of detail, it's insane! I'd really like to see an art breakdown of certain parts of GTA V, like how they did the streets etc.

This is great news. I kinda wonder though if Rockstar have peaked with GTAV or can they still go on to do even better? What else can they do apart from make the graphics even better? Everything seems to be here now

I do wonder what they'll make next actually! I wonder if they'll pile on to RDR2?

GTA is like a case study. They are making profit of it. It began as a little 2D top down game and evolved to a full blown 3D that is expanding at each iteration.

There's always somethings they can do better. As a dev, everytime you finish a game, you look back at it and you wish you would have made many things differently. And you grab that knowledge and apply it on your next project. This is like the life history of GTA, every GTA game is built on top of the previous games.
Looking at it right now, in regards to the art, with the eye of an environment artist, I wish the world was a little bit more dense, more vegetation, more clutter, etc. That's something I'm looking forward to see on the next GTA game, because even tho it's 2013, it's easy to forget GTAV is running on 2005/2006 hardware!

Holy shit that was amazine...

Oh there's tons they can do. The controls, shooting and driving are all still mediocre. As life-like the city feels, its still feels empty at times and has major areas you just wish could be more expanded. (Seems they cut back because of tech from earlier trailers.) Police are way better but still lifeless drones that shoot before asking questions, but at the end of the day, its a fantastic and fun game. I am really enjoying it. Some of the best missions I've ever seen in a game!

What's wrong with them? The driving isn't nearly as deep as 4, so I get that. But the shooting is appropriate for the pacing of the game and feels good and movement in general is some of the best feeling around. It's not snappy but that doesn't mean it's not good in the context of the game. Characters feels grounded as fuck. It's fun to just walk around, as it was in 4 and Red Dead so it's no wonder they didn't really change it all that much.
-
Yeah man, its fun, its good, I am just being harsh because aka 98%
Missions however make it up by far and the immersive city/world. But the controls are a bit stiff, not as good as Max Payne as they said it was supposed to be, but still good for the game like you said. I just have to knock the game down a little, come on.

Edit: Now that I have experienced a lot more vehicles, its better than i thought initially, pretty impressive actually.. I always thought it was better than 4, everything is, but unlike 4, I am having a great time with the driving.
-
Knock it for the slow ass missions where you're driving around listening to dialogue for 75% of it. Or riding a bike (fuck me). Leave the shitty driving and movement alone.
-
Welp you can just take my money when you release a PC version or keep teasing me forever, I guess, take your pick...
it looks so awesome

I think the driving is really good actually. It's very easy to drive backwards and do a 180 turn and all of that fancy stuff
Having a blast speeding and getting myself blown through the windshield! It does require some practice though, I had to do one of the races 3-4 times but after that I got it nailed down. -
Only played it for about 18-19 hours so far, completely in love with it. It might just be the heat of the moment, but right now it's firmly aimed at being my favorite game of all time. There are single elements here and there that might not be incredible, but the sum of all it's parts just rises above everything else anyone else have ever achieved.
Also really happy that I've been to Los Angeles, because it just adds to the experience and makes the attention to detail even more impressive when you've actually been to the places they've recreated and experienced the city during day and night time.
-
Yeh the scale of this game is insane and the amount of details are overwhelming. I love every second of it so far.
Driving feels really smooth, though the damage is a bit to low to my taste. You can drive into a wall and only have a few scratches in the paint.
-
Can you still totally trash cars like in GTA4 though?
-
the car damage is something people are crying about like it ruins the game - but you can still completely trash a car if you do it right. i like how a fender-bender won't fuck up your car completely, it was always annoying when you made a small mistake and then you had to go and repair it cause all the wheels were pointing in different directions, the bonnet was missing and you had no doors left. personally i think this is a good change.
my only disappointment with the game so far is the lack of enterable businesses. i want to go buy a chicken burger or rob a 7-11. i understand it would probably be pretty difficult with the sheer amount of content and the crappy hardware but it starts to feel a little bit like GTA4 where there wasn't enough to do in the city and driving around became pointless.
