As most of you know the new prodigy was just released over steam. I have not yet played it because I just got home from work. To those that have played it, what do you think of it.

Based on the pictures I have seen so far it doesn't seem like the remakes that have been done for the other maps. It wasn't at all what I expected from a Prodigy remake.

It's the best CS:S map, both visually and in terms of playability. End of.

I just had a quick walkthrough before I left for work. I really love the new visual style of the map, its sorta cold war'ish . I think its a really good idea to totally change the visuals when you remake it, as long as its done like this. Havent had a chance to play it against people (only have a flythrough for like 5min), but the layout looks like a very faithful port of the original prodigy. Anyway, Prodigy and Office r some of my fav CS maps, so its good to see that they're also the best remakes ~

All i wanna say is that the map is awsome.

Great Job Cliffe and Valve team.

I think that visually its one of the worst actually, I think most of the other maps came out far better with their remakes. Its far from ugly it just isn't much to my liking I guess. Should still be fun to play though, which is the most important thing after all

Bags of atmosphere, I love it - it's closer to what I thought CS:S maps were going to be like (quite a few of them are just crap).

honestly i dont know what you guys are talking about.

the textures are bland, the brushwork overall is ugly, the lighting is awful, they completely changed the maps location (this might be good though)

but honestly how can you guys say its a good looking map, it feels like a hl2world 'OMG I PORTED PRODIGY' thread

I think OL is being a little extravagent in his description but I'm leaning more to his side of things than the majority's here. The office/lab type section is pretty nice and the garage/warehouse is quite cool, but the outdoors are dull and the tunnels looked pretty crap in my opinion. Its not a bad map, but its not up to the standards of some of the others in my opinion.

It's a great remake, don't get me wrong. But I think I'm with ReNo and OL on this one. It just doesn't "feel" like prodigy, and I don't really like the outdoor sections as well.

I agree that its awesome and I love it so.

I think it destroys alot of the other remakes in terms of atmosphere and immersion.

    Easily top 3.

The outside sections threw me at first. The map always had a wide open vista there, so it was a bit odd seeing a cramped exterior. Still, it's grown on me a lot, I like it now

Gameplay-wise, there's way to many barrels that you "bounce" off of in that sniper hallway. It was very annoying.

this is what a lot of people need to remember when making Source maps. Phsyics may be fun as hell, but its damn annoying when your path is blocked. Now on the other hand when you are blocking the Ts path, giving you the upper edge it is a different story.

I enjoy prodigy pretty much and had a great game on my first at go on it. 7 kills with my trusty deagle in the first round (even though it was already about 7 rounds into the map)

Now I have something to shoot for with militia.
