At first I thought the interiors looked cool and polished. Then I was like... meh.

same here. I think the setup around 50's is pretty cools, but i didn't liked the aliens and the gameplay just seems boring...

I'm way more okay with this now that the proper XCOM has come out and shown who's boss. I'll give this the benefit of the doubt, but yeah, I wouldn't mind more games in the 60's era.

are you fucking kidding me? you want the new Call of Duty but you think this will be shit?

looks awesome, getting a super awesome X-Files vibe from this (which we all know was the alpha and omega of TV series), I'd not only watch this if it were a feature length movie, I'd also play the living shit out of the game. 1960s alien investigation? WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE ABOUT THIS

Yea im super serious, looking at the gameplay man, (who said i want new COD?)

and ok that TEASER gave me that 60' Xfiles vibe, true very positive, but dude THIS AINT GAME it is just fucking movie - that should make you want to watch more movies like that, why ppl are getting Hype for games after wathingh live action teasers ? WTF ?

It's indeed pretty worrying. A game in the pipes since 2006, from which we haven't reaaally seen much in years, which gets a live action release trailer and supposed to be released in 4 months? That doesn't sound good in any book...

    But that trailer was nice

since it's so close to release maybe stop being skeptics about it and think about it as a marketing thing? I highly doubt that the reason they're not showing gameplay is because LOL GAMEPLAY SUXXXORS GG 0/10

One would think the rabid XCOM fanbase would now be OK with this since we got our turn-based strategy version of the game. Haters gonna hate, I guess.

When they first dropped this I thought it looked pretty neat... until 10 minutes in when he turned the corner and I saw the array of waist-high sandbag walls.

I cringed just as hard at that as the first time I saw it.

It's not a FPS anymore. They've changed it to TPS, and I don't think there's any gameplay videos yet of their new approach.

There's still going to be squad commanding and such.

Looks better than I expected, could actually be all right.

Seems to borrow a bit from the XCOM: Enemy Unknown alien design.

I've seen an interview on IGN with footage this morning, they show the evolution of the title from the FPS presentation, transitioning to know.

I like the new take, even though I can say I did like aspects of any iteration; the linear-fps approach wasn't "X-Com", but was conveying something that seemed worth to be narrated.

I'm thinking if this whole thing wasn't just an error in comunication to the public, a concept that passed through the interview in which they say something like «People should not think 'this is X-Com' but rather 'this is a X-Com'».

I mean, i remember it was presented as a "Xcom reboot", while the new take clearly labels it as a spin-off.

This is something that should have been really planned ahead, a really nice touch of compactness in the narrative universe.
