This is what Kim swift has been working on since leaving Valve for Airtight game. It looks very good tbh.

It very much looks to me like she's included everything in her new game that Valve wouldn't let her do with Portal 2 (timing based puzzles for one thing)

That's a bit of a stretch. They are both 1st person puzzle games but the one is about portals and the other one is about different dimensions. The puzzles seem to be quite different.

yeah, i'm not trying to undercut it. narbacular drop was cutsier than portal, and this game seems to be reclaiming some of that.

looks fun...there needs to be more of this.

Obviously it is very different than portal, while there is the "the place is a laboratory" theme + "put box on button to open round door" both of those have been done many times before, even if portal was the first to acknowledge that its a box on a button. Blocking a laser has also been done before portal2. It's similar to portal in that it is self-acknowledging "this is how game mechanics work" but at their core all games are about putting keys in locks, even if the key is a bullet and the lock is a head.

Looks like it will be fun!

    I like it

Meanwhile...kudos to Kim Swift for letting the gameplay speak for itself and not over hyping it. There was nothing close to terms like "cinematic intensity" or "a new revolution in cardboard box physics" or other marketing shenanigans. Nor did she qualify it by saying "it's still in development...this isn't final" and etc. She just explained it as simply as she could. That kind of authenticity is refreshing and, imo, only increases my interest in the game.
