I dislike the longer round and bomb timers and I think the rifle nerfs are not a good idea. Should have just looked into the weapon mod instead and made smokes last shorter.
The revolver will eventually be balanced, but I think it is a shame since the Deagle just had a huge comeback recently. But honestly: The main problem is really the lowered skill gap. They should really listen to pros more. I mean, tapping and bursting should be made more viable instead of everything being made less viable... The answer to making something less bad is not turning the alternatives bad as well.
Also, the intransparency of Valve and the lack of a beta client... just why? I'd assume such a huge company would finally be more aware of the strengths their game has and how to delicately balance things.

I just did a overwatch report on someone who abused it. Didn't know it was a exploit. I still think he deserves a VAC ban since he exploited it every round.
People should know better.
As for the revolver, I really don't get how valve does things. I mean, what if a 6 shot revolver would have been better? Kinda hard now to revert when you already sold skins for it.
Anyway, I think:
-there should be no kill reward or a 100$ kill reward.
-make it inaccurate while running, but keep accuracy for shift walking
- or, while running, auto decrease speed when you take a shot
-no 1 hit kill for lower torso
-maybe lower damage for right mouse
-bullet by bullet reload so a full reload takes really long
-or, one time speedloader reload, after that bullet by bullet reload
But I had a lot of fun with it ![]()
Does anybody know how many of these changes will be applied to this weekends ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals?
I'd love to see some pro players use and abuse these new additions to the game, to see if it's really as bad as everyone seems to think :v
They will use the previous version for the finals ![]()
The gun apparently costs 750 now, but you can only buy it if you have 850 or more :v

Good, I hope that guy gets banned for abusing.
Valve's approach so far seems to be make a weapon BETTER than anything else so everyone uses the new OP weapon and they get lots of usage data to best know how to tweak it to fit into the game. Sadly looking at the CZ and random botched gun mechanics, I can say with some confidence that they aren't using it right...
For the changes, I don't think your suggestions properly address the core of the problem. The base damage of the gun is far too high. I believe the base damage is the value of damage done to the chest at point blank range without armour, and everything else is calculated from location multipliers (eg. stomach = 1.25), damage fall off, and armour penetration.
IMO They should:
I know it's a game, but this gun is firing .357 vs the Desert Eagle's gratuitous .50, so let's use that as a guideline balance for damage and penetration. When you fan the hammer of a revolver, you're shooting from the hip, why should you have any accuracy at all, make it like noscoping a hefty sniper rifle.
Leave the kill reward in contact, I don't think changing the money is the answer: when was the last time you thought "I want to buy this gun, but I'll get less money for kills" apart from maybe the P90 (I don't think anyone bats an eyelid when the AWP get's $100 a kill, if anyone even noticed). For the most part it's inconsequential.
Yeah...

IMO They should:
- Lower base damage and armour penetration to closer mimic the SSG08
- Right click implements "noscope" type accuracy (no reliable first hit accuracy)
- Increase reload time
- Increase movement penalty
- Marginally decrease damage falloff

Yeah...
weapon is a bit overpowered and ridiculous, but it isn't unbeatable though, it is so slow that you can be headshot with an AK or whatever and be dead before even having the time to shoot. What's ridiculous though is the damage you take from it. Personnally I'd recommend to make it a one hit headshot to armored and helmet, like the deagle. I'd it was up to me I'd make it basically as deadly as a deagle but with a really different shooting style, basically the same as the CZ against the tec9 or 5-7. Personnally I won't use that gun, ever.

would have just been nice if it was a deagle skin, like an alt skin you could use

Then it's plain confusing for players finding them on the ground. Also new weapons exist to provide new functionality, otherwise it's a waste of space.
I could see the R8 working with a slower movespeed during cocking, no/near useless secondary fire, and higher spread, maybe even lower kill reward. Make it a clear risk to exchange for a gun, essentially.

Agree with the technical points, just want to point out that iIf it was a skin, it would be client side so people wouldn't see a Revolver if they have chosen the Deagle.

It could be either depending on how Valve would wish to implement it. Considering how every other skin renders for all clients, so you can see the bright blue camo of my long ass m4a1-s sticking out around a corner, I would imagine DDs implementation the more likely of the two.
Don't really get why they don't have a beta client for these kinds of updates. Although I guess having the entire userbase experience the changes will result is a lot more data.

Yeah, valid point. The way it is now you would have to display on all clients, you could "easily" double check on a client skin choice.
Since Revolvers have 6 rounds vs 7 in the deagle, it's a pointless discussion anyway XD I agree with @DrywallDreams that is just better to have different weapons.
Now I'm trying to imagine if they were to change the weapons on a seasonal base like we'd like them to do with maps ![]()
@blackdog it has 8 rounds unfortunately.
Personally, if I were left with adding a revolver, I would've added a .50 cal one like the S&W500, which not only looks more impressive and revolvery, it could then also be based on some slightly alternate deagle balance.

^ This is probably the most accurate statement yet!
I don't like the secondary fire at all. It's way too random and powerful in close quarters and getting a kill with it is just pure luck. The gun should work well at a distance but not up close ![]()

gun is just ridiculous at a distance, which makes it too overpowered, but if you manage to change that so that it deals less damage, then it will be in my opinion as powerful as the deagle and it would make it more of a preference to choose between the two, like it was with the m4a4-m4a1. You traded with those accuracy for more bullets etc.
guys, I am having a problem with my decals. They just seem to be extremely large!
This seems to be the same with every texture... can anyone help me ?
Cheers!

Try using overlay tool

but I can only place like ... what was it ... 50 or 500 in one level. And isn't the point of these decal_textures to use them as decals ?
