The only reason I managed to do the assault mission was because on my 3rd try the server had these friendly dudes who helped everyone to get all the hostage pickups, I would have given up otherwise since I didn't even get my first pick up from the previous 2 matches.

You were completely calm and collected Exodus [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/4ANwoT4.png] (but seriously that mission was bs, people on Terrorist team even started to help CTs because it was so annoyingly hard to complete)
I completed all missions expect the ones leplubodeslapin circled out, because I can't stand playing casual, the reward was only 600 xp and they were not required to get the gold coin, so it felt like a waste of time even trying. This kind of grind is not what I consider fun, Valve could definitely have done better on some missions.

I agree some of the missions could use some work, but in the end this discussion seems to usually boil down to the difference between competitive and casual players. I think it's only fair if there's a challenge for both casual and competitive players and everything in between. Someone on Reddit suggested something along the lines of 3 options for each mission: casual style, competitive style and I don't remember the 3rd one
Anyway, they each could have their own reward XP or whatever and players could choose right on the spot what type they'd be up to.I think I would like something like that, although it'd be a lot more work for Valve to do for each Operation ... unless off course the community could do some of the work?

In other news, there's a CS:GO update.
In a nutshell: Bloodhound came to an end, but more importantly, the Zeus was nerfed!

– Zeus:
— Increased price to $200
— Reduced kill award to $0
— Reduced max player speed to 22 -

Seems like pretty damn stupid nerf for Zeus. It's basically useless now, but if you happen to have one (accidentally picked up, for example), you're gonna waste some precious seconds when switching to knife, only realize it chooses the Zeus first.
Then again, Valve does quite often these updates where something that's equal to Ion-Cannon, next it's like broken nerfgun that only makes sound anymore.
-
– In official competitive matches, voice communications are now team-only in warmup and half-time, allowing players to discuss player roles and strategies.
NICE
-
saves me muting the enemy team when they start shittalking in warmup. Kind of sucks for that odd time you have a really civil game but I can see why they've done that.
-
I'd prefer if you could toggle between team-only and open communications. I sometimes would argue with the enemy team and in some rare cases we actually managed to play some knife-only matches. It's fun.
On the other hand: RIP annoying techno/dubstep warmup spammers. I won't miss you.

It was breaking competitive play and (imo) was initially meant as a novelty weapon. This way, people can use it as a cheap shot, but they won't receive any monetary compensation for doing so. you don't ever drop zeuses any more afaik. It's a utility weapon, and you would drop your primary or secondary if no primary available and your most "expensive" nade.
I think this is a great change for the zeus, but then I've not had any bad instances with it in recent games.

This way the Zeus gets the role it should have: An easy way to steal the enemy gun without buying the CZ. The reward is the landed oneshot and subsequent ability to kill people with the (hopefully) newly aquired gun.

Awesome!
Why did you mute the other team though? They can't talk to the other team over voice anymore (to provide indepth feedback on resort of course :P)
and you got an autoshotgun! day of days

yeah, it's still in my autoexec.cfg and it's still pretty useful as it also mutes what the other team writes. It also automatically mutes half of the players in DM and casual, which is nice.

Oh shit, didn't even notice that! That's pretty cray cray :spot:

For anyone who didn't notice: map deadline for next operation is 9th November.
Expecting more Mapcorian maps to be included this time as well! C:
-
I hope to see some Mapcore contest in there. So many good maps were started and finished, they deserve a bigger chance.
Oh, and of course Cruise and Santorini

-
I'd be surprised if there's not at least a couple from the contest.
I just hope the operation is more well thought out this time so the maps are given a more paced exposure in terms of missions.
