It has.Oh cool, seems legit but some spots are incredibly dark, definitely not up for clan war standards I think. That was just an example anyway, it didn't came out quite right. What I mean is that Nuke has always had a certain popularity, but I didn't see it being played nearly as much as it is today… it seemed just as popular as other maps that haven't been ported by Valve (and haven't been lobbied to get back).

I'm personally all for new maps, that would give so much more opportunities to level designers, but the way CSGO is working still doesn't incentive the adoption.

I have always been thinking of a "season" system like Shawn and Volcano were talking in the recent interview. Put up some big prize on a tournament with original map rotation, and people will pay attention.

This is what it boils down to, isn't it?

At some point they'll need to make the bold decision to remove Dust2 from a tournament, but obviously it cannot be removed from matchmaking, so as long as the Active Duty is strictly coupled to the tournament rotations, the game will never progress to that new and exciting point. Same for Inferno, Mirage, even Cache (and it goes without saying, Nuke). These levels should be rotated out to make way for new interesting tournaments which force adaptation, and create opportunity spaces for new levels. Not just the same old same old, even if those old levels are critical for establishing a quality standard to meet.

In the case of Nuke it would also be invaluable to allow Valve to go back and do the Train-process on it, where they sub out a map for a while to work on it and make needed improvements

I agree. Dust2 is pretty much veto'd every game anyway and I think Overpass has proved that new maps can really spice up the tournaments.

A tournament with only new maps would be cool. But it would require a hefty sum of money for teams to actually care.

I've got the same picks though I'm really not sure who to pick with NiP in group C X(

As you can see, my money is on CLG, lol. Not impressed by HR recently, and I think keyd/kabuum are too much of a wildcard for my liking

I wish all the teams well, but I don't understand how people can choose a team to support. I'm indifferent to all apart from disliking IBP lol

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of smurfs playing at the moment? I'm not normally one to complain but I've done nothing but lose to people with no ranks or very low play times since Saturday. I was DMG but gone back down to MG2 since I don't think I've won a single game since then.

I recommend ditching that Valve MM and going for PUG @ FaceIt/ESEA/etc., because indeed Valve MM is just horrible with all the smurfs and cheaters. I'm getting totally owned by some 29h guys, I wonder how I managed to waste my ~900h and be this shit.

Yeah, I have been meaning to give something like Faceit a go lately.

Thing is I have heard a lot of people complaining about cheaters and smurfs online for a long time but never really experienced it myself. Then all of a sudden last weekend I started to get nothing but them. Is this what MM is like for most people? It's horrible! Was there a big sale on CS:GO on some key site somewhere?

Try to remember that typically, your level of play is variable. You might just be having an "off-week" or two.

Yeah I know. Shit happens and sometimes you just can't hit a barn at point blank range. But when that barn has 16 hours of play and is stomping you it is a bit disheartening

ESEA is the shit. I've been playing it for a couple weeks and it's a lot more fun than valve MM for some reason. I'm challenged but it's a fair challenge. I can soloqueue and get a proper team every time.

FaceIt is junk. 50-60% of players are toxic silvers that are using faceit for their cooldowns it seems.

the trick is to play with a reliable group of people. imo it's better in the long run anyway as you learn how each other work. ive not done much with esea, but i have no problem with faceit (again, probably because of large groups)

my housing situation is still a pain so im not on my computer, but i swear to <god of choice> this sunday i will be at home and on all evening on my computer if people want to join me, in fact! im going to make an event!

Whenever having FaceIt match (I don't have ESEA now because I got massively toxic teammates there when I played once so I kind of held back from it), invite/ask me. I'm usually up for a match or two there.
