I just picked the ones who did good last year.

Cloud9?
they got punted out after 2 games last time. They scraped through the qualifiers this time too.
I really like them but they aren't on the same level as European teams.
-
Not so sure about Keyd Stars (KaBum), but it's nice to see a new team from outside Europe/NA competing at the top level

Good stuff, Volcanos comments on dust are spot on I think, the reason it is so popular is basically tied to the actual game itself, its not that its a perfect map as I hear people claim sometimes.
-
Ha! I've stood there many a time when catching up with friends at GDC

Good interview, I really enjoy listening to Volcano talk about cs:go, you can tell his experience as a professional player really pours over into his design decisions.
Also, F you shawn
Nuke is my favorite map. -
Haha love the 'Counter-strike is great yaaa' at the end.
Cool little interview! Looking sexy, guys.
-
Great interview guys.
The whole map choice system is to be overhauled imo. Also thank you Shawn about the words on Nuke, I hate it, hate it, hate it... and it almost always comes up the rare times I try to play!
I wish it was... nuked. Also, a question arising from your comment about Nuke: he has been doing consulting for Valve to suggest changes?
Anyway dunno what i missed, but to me looks the same as it has been for the last decade? -

Oh yeah, we talking about ancient history, thought there was something going on recently (like they redesigned Train).
These changes were definitely great, but I still hate the map.

I think you underestimate the eastern Europeans on LAN.
But we will see.

I feel the same. Really important changes, but not quite enough for me to like Nuke.
It's still like the second most popular map in the game though, to be fair.
-
Yes, I don't understand this popularity! Until Source I don't think it was ever like that? At that time in fun so many served were set on a dust2, dust, inferno, office, Italy and awp_india cycle.
We played many clan wars on prodigy, I'm surprised it hasn't been remade by anyone.

I think its more of a port, rather than a remake or remaster. So i suppose its still open to those wanting to revive it and give it some fresh paint.
-
what about making new and unique maps instead of remaking? I'd rather not turn csgo mapping into a hollywood movie production.
