Fringe map heros + Valves latest MM update = extra lube required. 'Can we play season now? :('

Soo MM seems to be entirely broken while Valve's out for DH (still trying to figure that patch timing out...). Deranked despite top fragging by a lot twice, going on a solid loss streak of about 10 or so.

Top fragging is meaningless, it's more about the win/loss based on if matchmaking expected you to win or not. If you are fragging a lot, it usually means your team aren't pulling their weight, and if there is a disparate number of frags, I have found it often means you will lose.

what's all about this dreamhack and top players cheating? I'm kinda confused. I only read the posts here, couple comments on the reddit threads you linked but they are not very explicative. Before reading the wiki I thought Dreamhack was a cheating event

So some top player has been recently banned during some event or in a very public way?

I'm not understanding the posts asking valve to explain their actions.

Also, how's people cheating nowadays? Thought that steam/the game was running checks on the files installed to see if they've been tempered with. Do cheats now run externally? Can't steam be a spyware and check you are not running any of that?

Can't pro players enter some sort of contract where they pay shit ton of penalties if they are caught or something? :/

I think that at the state we are in, single tournaments could do that, but how can a league enforce that (without having an annual entry fee)?Anyway I'd just say ban every account they ever create to play the game they cheated.

A couple top players got VAC bans. That's all we know about their specific cases.

But there has been tremendous volumes written about the hacks they were supposedly using, which are (apparently) virtually impossible to detect even on LAN. So the only way to prevent people from cheating, even on LAN, is to completely lock down the LAN environment. It used to be we thought people could cheat online, but never really on LAN, that's the big change that has occurred. Needless to say the cheating scandal has really cast a big shadow over this major, it gets even worse because many people suspect the top team in all of CS:GO has many hackers on it, I don't personally, but there are tons of people examining them for evidence at all times now. I think it's really hurt the overall spectator/fan experience a lot.

    true

    team wins: 'using hacks'

teams loses unexpectedly: 'not good without thier hacks'

It's pretty tedious to even just read.

Most of the times it's because one of the tournament sponsors (in this case maybe Razer or Asus) demands that all the players use their products while on stage. The problem with that is that every team has a headset sponsor which might not be the same company that sponsors the tournament, so they have to use two pairs of headsets. Usually they use just the mic of one of the headsets and then listen to the sound with the other.

It might also be because the tournament forces them to use noise cancelling headsets so that hey can't listen to the crowd while playing.

I personally don't understand why they can't use those soundproof booths they have for other games. I wouldn't want to sit anywhere near my opponent in such an information sensitive game.

This back to back square layout they are using is intriguing, but... I don't know...

I just witnessed the unadulterated molestation of HR by NIP, they got played like one of these new teams in the competition.

I have to say, cheating scandal aside, it's nice to see some new teams make it into this large tournament. It's always the same faces with fairly similar expectations.

Still not a fan of DE_Cbbl. Any B attempts with a CT with auto holing back of site have been fully shutdown. And I don't think I've seen a T rotation yet on it.

Overpass is great though- It feels like a wildcard map just now.

One for mic, other is for blocking out noise.

Fnatic are a bunch of "expletives ad infinitum". They sit on an exploit for 2 months and don't say shit so they can get a cheap win in the next major. Imagine if this was pulled out during the finals.

Seriously, gtfo you little shits. LDLC better get a rematch.

Bombsite A positioning/ct spawn always have been an issue in overpass. The first iteration of the map had similar boost problems. I don't understand how they couldn't just make a 100% proof clipping pass of this critical area. Seems lazy..

probably felt like overkill to clip the whole lot but should be getting properly tested, If a pro team can find it I'm sure Valve can.

I wonder if it's possible to write an algorithm that highlights all walkable/standable areas because the problem with this spot is that you can basically get 6 foot the ground without a boost...

Guys, just be glad it's not one of your maps. You'd be getting accused of being part of the cheater alliancetm just now
