Yes, inventory management appears when waiting for a game, on game load I get the home screen.

That's the Inventory screen, see the profile "badge" on the top left... but yeah, I think your question demonstrate what I'm saying about a not optimal UI; notice the lack of highlighting on the main menu, which makes it confusing knowing in what section you are.

Fiddling around I found out you can't exit the game if you are on an Option or Stats screen... which I can understand why it's like that (for the former), but the screens looks like any other: I think there should be a clear separation (like overlay window) if you want this sort of behaviour. Plus Options screen doesn't have tabs like the Inventory I find these dropdowns menu are quite annoying anyway... I'm now curious how they have laid out the console version.

Or why the mapcycle screen is so big, with the "Ok" button so far away, when you just can have a few to select from anyway... if at least you could hit Enter to confirm a mapcycle of choice, but no. And I think you could start a search of a new server more quickly, straight from the in-progress game, or wasn't? Cos being forced to exit to Main Menu to search for a game it's stuff from the stone age.

I dunno, in general the whole system looks confusing to me.

"There were clear favorites with Insertion leading the pack in daily Competitive playtime, taking in over 21% of Competitive Operation map playtime (with Overgrown and BlackGold in second and third)."

Insertion favorite? Great concept in a map not adapted to counter-strike IMO. The only reason I played Insertion (and I'm sure why most people played it) 33% of my mission drops were "Win 16 rounds on competitive Insertion".

I hope Valve's intentions are not to bring Insertion back, but I would gladly see the same concept in a more close combat scenario..

What was the previous gap between end of operation and start of a new one by the way?

Phoenix ended June 11th and Breakout started July 1st.

Insertion was loads of fun. Sure not great for competitive but fun none the less.

They removed the Workshop uploader tool from the SDK. Anyone knows how to upload now?

There is console command workshop_publish now that seems to open some sort of menu but it doesn't list existing items. I'm afraid if i use it, i may lose the work on workshop or unable to controll stuff uploaded with it.

I kind of have to agree with Insertion, it's a great map, with a great idea but simply does not work in multiplayer at CS. I have to wonder why it was the most popular map anyway, because i had to queue that map AGES for each operation drop i had for it. The others i got in way faster.

Well, looks like posting about the workshop tool paid off (to csgo_sdk mailing list). They re-added the links to SDK menu.

    Hi.

We re-shipped the Workshop Map Publish tool available from the CSGO SDK for now, since we are still working out some kinks with the new workshop_publish.

    Sorry for the confusion.

I quite enjoyed the little 5v5 for Squad's map and it might do some good to get you guys out of the sdk and into the game

I might be the only one sad about this update. I turned all of my music off due to not being able to hear people when the bomb was planted.

Maybe allow us to turn off certain tunes? I would love to turn most of the music back on. Just not the bomb.

They did that, just lower the volume/turn the ones you don't want to zero in audio options. Now just if I could get a music offer thing (holy shit is Valve's buying system convoluted as hell).

Hoooly shit Valve needs to stop being Valve and moderate the damn community. Seems that every time I try playing MM I just get matched with assholes/smurfs/trolls.

Some of the new music is really sweet, I only wish they added it as a regular store item (like Dota2) for a few dollars instead of trying to artificially limit availability by only randomly selling it to a few people via "special offers".

Maybe they should've split the new music into two components; client side music that is more available and the MVP-snippet that plays when you're the MVP which could be more rare and sexy as it's more of a "bragging rights" thing?

I find it interesting, "special offers" makes even the least sought after skins potentially worth your time and investment. Hopefully the creators make more money from it as well.

When I was recently pissing about, I forgot to mention that it's very annoying that they removed granularity for the map selection screen (in casual).

I'm sure it's been like this for long now, but boy it's annoying!

Also I think that in general the Mac client is buggy, for both the game and Steam, some stuff has been there at least a year, and they didn't fix shit :-|
