from what i gather about this "game" if you close yoru eyes and think vague, pretty thoughts you will probably closely simulate the experience.
/is extra cynical because he doesn't own any consoles, never gets to play anything but PC games

Great talk about Journey from DICE, especially the second half. Some really interesting details about problem solving and designing the game towards their desired emotion. I already read somewhere about it's influence from The Hero's Journey, but it interesting to see Jenova Chen talk about how they directly designed the various parts to follow that.

C'mon now, Mapcore doesnt need a second dux mmkay? maybe you should play it, It's an amazing and unique experience
Funnily enough, I own this game since it came out but for some reason I only actually sat down and finished it last weekend, and man, it was one of the most relaxing and magical experiences I've had on a console. What a fucking beautiful game, it really makes you forget any stress you have in life for a couple of hours and go with the flow.
This game really is something that can't be explained, you have to play it.

I think that was 99% bitterness about not owning a console, the game does look amazing and I've heard nothing but positive stuff. So excuse my immaturity, I'll be on notice that I need to play this one day

Interesting article:
http://www.edge-online.com/features/why-t…for-the-studio/
Turns out the Journey developers basically went under after the game was released due to their Sony contract reaching its end, shedding most staff and existing largely in name only. They've now started rebuilding themselves after finding a new backer but I think it shows nicely how fuckin' shit the industry can be that their reward for producing such universally acclaimed and beautiful games is a foot up the ass. I'm guessing the game wasn't particularly lucrative.

i'm sure it sold pretty well...

I'm not quite sure if that's saying that PSN sales are usually really shit, or very little of the money makes its way to the developer. Either way, the fact that they couldn't even keep a 30 person-ish studio open with the profits is pretty weak.

Okay, this was recently released for PS4 and I haven't played it before so I bought it and then I started it and then I was like hmm and then I was like oooooooooooh and then I was like holy shit and then I was like omg this was amazing and then I was like shit I have to pee I haven't moved in like 4 hours straight and then I peed and then I was still like that shit was intense (the game, not the pee).

So is that it, just a re-release? The game made its way on a weekly Italian news magazine "the international", where they gather and translate news from all the most important news outlets, so that's general news... I couldn't read the article but thought it came about because of a sequel.

Remasters are so hot right now.....

Yeah I think they just released it as a simple port, as it seems to be available to me on my PS4 even though I only bought it for the PS3... unless that's because of PS+ or something.
Anyway, yes this game is wonderful. I hope that with the PS4 release they've rectified any technical limitations there might have been with the resolution and/or frame rate, although I don't remember any problems there anyway.
