Not just "in danger", 750 rads is a super fatal dose. They're pretty much saying Japan could be the apocalypse.

    1 rad = 1 rem = 0.01 sv. check the above chart.

take into account that this is gradually accumulated, not instant. over time, the body will remove at least some of the radiation present.

considering the half lives, prolly longer than you'd care to wait.

ehh. you don't have to wait for radioactive matter to do that. it, like most other molecules, will bind itself and get flushed out with waste disposal.

in order to prevent radiation from clogging up the thyroid gland, you can ingest some more iodine or get iodine pills even.

I don't really remember. Maybe its different kinds of exposure. All I know is that the meter we wore in the army kept up with the cumulative exposure to any we may pick up during our tours. Perhaps the kind we had in the army is different than medical radiation of nuclear power plant kinds.

If we got to much we were banned from the area/task indefinitely. That's all I know.

Is this an example of a brain fart in action, or should we just forgo the formalities and get a rope?

    A. 7.5 SV is fatal even with treatment, as per the chart.

    B. The graph of 750 rads hitting America is a piece of fiction, made up by complete fucking assholes.

    C. It's grossly irresponsible to be reprinting it anywhere. People are poisoning themselves with iodine overdoses over this shit. There are runs on fucking SALT in some places. Salt!
