I think nowadays it's safe to assume that unless you literally took a screenshot yourself it's staged.

    Looks hella nice.

On a side note, am I the only one that has more or less completely stopped visiting Kotaku after they went over to their new design? Just can't stand it.

I'm wondering what plans Valve has for Source engine. As i see it they lose touch with the state of the art tech at an ever increasing rate.

I think Valve is more concerned with modifying the source engine to suite their games as apposed to being state of the art? Still, it'll be interesting to see what they're doing with source for Ep3.

    Looks awesome.

And yes, kotaku is almost never visited now that it takes forever to load and the back button misbehaves because of their stylish javascripts..

I'm sure their billions will comfort them in the face of such a thought.

They are currently renewing their tool-sets. Optimizing the art pipeline is much more important than having the greatest render features (though Unreal has one of the greatest art pipelines available atm).

Finally. Worst art pipeline ever in Source.

You're talking about "moddable" engines though, right?

We all know how shitty inhouse engine is!

The In-House engine (2.0) is probably one of the best engines ever made.

No wonder they don't allow modders to use it, those filthy modder scum shouldn't be allowed access to such a great toolset.
