I was already picky when I was little and I remember judging the robot walk too stiff to be acceptable for the year where the movie was set, lol. Also the bigger drone already felt too fake at the time.

But watching it today, having seen only couple scenes, was really rewarding… and if I knew it was by Vernhoven I would have surely given it a chance long time ago.

    Great movie.

    It's Verhoeven btw ;)

Robocop is a movie with a lot of heart. It also modernized movie robotics and it was aggressively satirical. One of the best things though and something you couldn't imagine in this day and age, is that it was pornographically violent while still being marketed towards children. The movie also had an important message about corporate greed and how the police got privatized. In a way, it was ahead of it's time. Then you have the pitch black humor and one liners. Plus, last and certainly not least, it has Clarence fucking Boddicker, one of the greatest movie villains of all time. I've to restrain myself not to go into a page long rant about why Robocop is one of the best movies ever made, so I'll leave you with this. It's a single scene, overflowing with pure brilliance. Not because it's violent, but because of all the little details.

Shit, now I have to watch it again tonight. I've probably watched this movie, without exaggerating, more than a hundred times. Yet, it still never gets old because it's just so fucking good!

Went through the whole thing, it's decent. It doesn't have any of the cringe pitfalls many series who attempt this genre have and it has a satisfying end. I felt it would be better if they had a monster of the week thing going for them, but maybe we get to see that per season. All in all a positive thing.

Also watched this entire thing. It's one season and ends on a cliffhanger, but goddamn it's one of the best TV series I have ever seen. People face real consequences, they die and in general the plot just makes a lot of sense. I definitely recommend watching even though it got cancelled after the first season.

One of the best movies ever made, hands down.

lol @Sprony, think that's because everyone agrees.

After the movie I did watch the "everything wrong" and in the related I found the "10 things you don't know about" and there were many of the things you mentioned.

Watced Godzilla last night, decent. Walter White trailer bait tho.

i only have a sound bar+woofer but was a pleasure to hear the creature sounds with very loud volume :)

Yeah, that's not too surprising because I probably know more about movies than I do about games :)

Yeah I think this is one of the biggest problems (mild spoiler),

Spoiler [...]That the series never really goes on to explain why or how these things happen in any way. I kind of have a theory that the whole season is like allegory for cancer/coma and death, but that may just be me.

Because of this I also felt like rewatching the X files, and I feel in many ways that Stranger Things pales in comparison to it, while attempting to cash in on similar concepts. Still, if anything, X files season 1 was also one of the weakest of the bunch, so if they move forward well from this, I think it's going to be really awesome.

Yeah, watched Stranger Things too. Really liked it, but I don't have any lasting impression like with Twin Peaks or X-files.

    Also,

Spoiler Don't know if this was intentional or not, but the monster was no longer scary after seeing it in full view. Getting glimpses of it in the shadows or only for a couple frames was much more effective.

I've seen Jason Bourne Monday and was rubbish ☹️

Also been catching up on Under The Dome Season 3… it's bad but I really want to see how it ends. I hope there's no S4 because the story is already being pulled by its hairs. It has improved in the second half season, in the first there were many "wait what?" Moments, I mean stuff would happen completely out of the blu, no connection to previous events etc.

Sergio Leone's epic western from 1968, Once Upon a Time in the West with Charles Bronson and Henri Fonda.

If you liked his other epic western movie, The good, the Bad and the Ugly with Clint Eastwood, you'll like this one.

Watched Elem Klimov Come and see. That is maybe the most frightening horror movie i've ever seen, if you would class it in that category. Actually i'm left with a nauseous feeling, and i will probably let some time pass before watching it a second time, although it was totally incredible. :D
