Yeah I dunno if I mentioned I went to see Minions at the cinema weeks ago. It wasn't incredibly fun but something real nice to watch with the miss.
Then Minions kidnapped me!
We are planning to go see the Inside Out and Secret Life Of Pets

JK Simmons (AKA Cave Johnson :v) is simply astonishing in his performance and diction.
Highly recommended to watch (added bonus if you are a Jazz fan)
Whiplash is in my list, just waiting to be in the right mood.
Furious 7
I can't decide if this shit is worse than the 6 or not. They have gone way too far already, stuff on screen is so absurd is not even enjoyable, just makes you go "bhoaaa come on". Also I think that Statham's casting was completely off, he just doesn't feel like a villain, he always find the crew even if he's supposed not to know where they are (how the hell did he knew to find them in the Emirates? at least in FF6 there was the double agent...). Djmon is there only to say "Fire", poor guy, and Tyrese has become such an annoying character, he's there just to remind us what went down in previous chapters and make you notice how bigger bollocks they've come up this time.
Edge Of Tomorrow
I had incredibly low expectations when it was coming out, I remember saying to a friend "ready for the worst movie of the year?" but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the movie is very enjoyable. Then maybe it's also I am in need of testosterone filled stuff since I'm pretty stressed. Anyway, good popcorn.
Pacific Rim
Maybe cos yesterday I was really angry with the world, but found it awesome (at release I was like "that's such bullshit movie").

Imagine the tension of the first minutes of Drive, and stretch it for a whole movie. That's basically what this is.It was on my list, I put it quite some time ago, don't even know if I had seen a trailer or put it there because of Jake Gyllenhaal, so went in without any particular expectation. I'm really really satisfied. The quite realistic take on this makes me think only of another movie, in which Gyllenhaal stars: End Of Watch (which was insanely good as well).
I must confess that I really like this guy, I think he's managing to show how flexible he his movie after movie; here sporting as a clearly disturbed person, definitely autistic, but I'm sure there's more to him.
Both great movies, I second that:)
Mean Streets (1973)
It was the only Scorsese - De Niro movie that I haven't watched yet and didn't have in my library.
Since we don't have a generalistic Cinema container, here's some words of wisdom
Still have to see Mean Streets! Got it ages ago, started it once but talk is very tight and accented, and I tried watching it a night I was too tired.
Been to the cinema tuesday and watched Ant-Man, must say that after all the good review titles I've seen littered around social networks, I was expecting more! It's really "first movie" in a sense. It's ok, but it's really the movie you only want to go to see on the cheap cinema night.

Thanks for sharing the CG video.
For Mean Streets, you are right, it is accented, but that's the beauty of it as it catches the authenticity of New York's Little Italy neighborhood in the 1970s.
Scorsese's movies are always authentic but this one is more so since it is a reflection of his own observations as a young adult of Italian-American descent in his 30s living in Little Italy in the 70s.
De Niro's "Nu Yok" accent and delivery are spot on in this movie ![]()
I don't mean I didn't pick it back up because I don't like the accent, just was difficult to understand. Then very weird that if they are portraying Italians I can't understand them, but was ages ago, maybe now after two years living abroad it'll be easier.
Cold Comes The Night - Alice Eve and Bryan Cranston as a Polish Heisenberg, nothing amazing but a decent flick with strong performances.
I've been watching the Canadian drama series "Orphan Black" which follows what happens when Sarah, a troubled runnaway witnesses the suicide of a girl who is identical to her before stealing her identity. It revolves around clones, with the lead Tatianna Maslany playing several different characters with complex and diverse personalities. I'm enjoying it quite a lot so far, I recommend it!
Oh yess, The Following Season 2 has arrived on Amazon Prime. Just watched the first episode and it's good, I rate it an 8 like the best episodes of the first season.
This is gonna be my prime filler again.
Check this out
Dragon Ball Super.
Dragon Ball is back!
Whiplash was REALLY good.
I've watched 16 episodes of that Gotham show in the last 2 days. Not sure why as it's not exactly amazing.
Why are all shows taking queues from Game of Thrones by the way? Woman in the last episode scooped out her own eye with a spoon...

you should be watching Battlestar Galactica ![]()
Watched a couple of Netflix randoms the other day:
Appleseed Alpha was a pretty cool animation, if not slightly readable. There may be more to it that I don't know about, but it's a universe I'd like to see more from.
And I watched Horns, starring Daniel Radcliffe (good) with an American accent (bad). Really fucking weird film, full of weird twists and turns. Had a permanent screw face for most of it, but I would say that I enjoyed it. Just can't think of anything out there really like it.
This is very cool for the cinema geeks and I think for those living in Vancouver... you guys there might know this already, or maybe not? ![]()
Avengers: Age of Ultron ("Sunday afternoon couch with popcorn" movie)
