Walking dead S1e4, scaring the gf out.

Also finished with her the S1 of Under The Dome, I'm happy she's digging it as much as me.

    Come at me bros!

Bloody lousy cardboard characters, barely held together plot and events and the least exciting action scenes I have seen in a long, long time.

Well but you can't be too harsh to a movie that is from another time, it has to be evaluated in context of its times.

Well, The Thing is from the year after and that is really solid.

But they are totally different movies. I'm not saying it doesn't have plot holes or what have you (no I haven't seen it except a few scenes eek), but that you need to know/understand what was the objective the director wanted achieve.

I mean, I still criticise Dracula by Coppola today because it was evidently horrible then: i was a kid and I could spot how fake the backdrops were, that the opening scene is with a model train etc. plus let's not talk about the whole narration was.

    Chronicle

I had no idea about the movie or the story. At first, I thought it was just another movie about a teenager getting abused by his alcoholic father and bullied at school.

then it suddenly turned into superhero movie territory albeit not your normal superhero type, more like the angry anti-social superhero.

nice movie for a rainy sunday afternoon with some popcorn

Chronicle is a superhero movie the way superhero movies should have been.

Anyone watching the new Homeland? I know a lot of people were put off the chance of a new series after the end of Season 3 but it seems like it's business as usual and apparently episode 6 is a doozy....

It was pretty over-hyped tbh, I mean it's a nice twist but it wasn't so massive imho. Anyway, still enjoyable.. classic Homeland.

    annnnd my latest obsession is Channel 4's Babylon, which has probably some of the best one liners.. ever;

"I sleep like a cokey meerkat on an electic fence, that's me relaxing"

    "Shut up you fuckin' yogurt"

"You can't hold back time, you're not fucking Michael J Fox... or Loreal."

"Why don't you go and have a cup of tea and a wank..?"

"Nobody noticed today's mass murder because the head of the Met's new coms chopped her deputy's cock off in Whitehall"

A Walk Among The Tombstones - actually pretty positively surprised about the quality. Surely it is nothing new that will rock your socks, but it's a tad different style of a Liam Neeson film and it is actually well acted by everyone involved. I will have to wait for a hard copy release though to watch it again, as I'd like to enjoy Neeson's voice in OV and they're only showing selected films in OV here. :/
