I started watching 'Parks & Recreation', it's pretty good... Ron Swanson is Gold!
What have you watched recently?

Just watched "Her". Good movie, thoughtful stuff.
-
Argo (Extended Cut) - very good movie, Affleck is good.
-
Badlands. Extremely surreal movie about a bonnie and clyde type couple. The 1950s were weird.

Just got through the first season of Hannibal and now onto the second. It took a while to really get its claws in but I I can honestly say it's one of the most well-crafted and delicately written shows I've ever seen. It completely subverts typical expectations of Hannibal fiction by flipping roles and leaving the viewer as much in the dark as the characters. It's great, but definitely a 'much watch every episode' kind of programme.
-
Hannibal is brilliant, I don't know why more people don't watch it. The second season is/was awesome (final episode on tomorrow night). Gory as anything too, really surprised me what they get away with. So glad they're making Season 3, but it's worrying that they might not get to do the full 8 seasons they want because of low viewing figures.

Who knows, but it's seriously film-quality shit. The production quality of the gore... holy fuck, easily the worst stuff I've ever seen on TV and kind of pushing it for film too.
I'm glad to hear season two continues the excellence, and while it's sad that it's probably coming to an end at least it means there's an opportunity to tidy everything up and bring it to a sweet conclusion.
One problem a lot of US shows have is that they don't know when to stop. As amazing as Hannibal is, I have trouble imagining how they'd keep it as tense and shocking over even five seasons.

Argo - extended cut
Very good movie, Affleck definitely knows how to direct IMO (well I was sold already sometime ago).
Not sure if I mentioned recently I watched Gone Baby Gone, also by Affleck.
Hannibal is in my plans, problem is right now I use only netflix, dunno where they air it in UK and anyway problematic to catch up.
-
It's on Now TV, it's Sky's equivalent of Netflix that features all the stuff Sky somehow keeps exclusive (like HBO stuff, Game of Thrones and such). I use that and Netflix on my PS3 for ultimate programming coverage, only like £13/month for both.

I've been saving up Hannibal S2 for a few weeks now, looks like the wait will be worth it!
Currently on S8 of 24, almost ready for LAD!
-
Episode four of the new 24 season for me this evening. Bauer is such a lad in this season.

You might want to give yourself a little break to limit the shock of Kiefer's ageing D3, lol.

No spoilers, but if you thought Season 1 was gory, you've not seen anything yet. Second to last episode of Season 2 tops the lot.

Went on an Alien saga hike. Aliens (god was that a good one) + Alien 3 (not very good) + Alien: Resurrection (had potential at the start but... the script was so bad).
-
I finally saw "The Lego Movie". I expected it to be absolute garbage but it's hilarious. There a so many little things going on in scenes that just put a smile on your face. Batman owned this movie. It's really great. SPACESHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i watched the new 300 movie...

Finished watching American Hustle. Forgettable I'd say.

Uh, so it's quite cheap. (Sky)If it works similarly to netflix and I can share it with my in-law, from whom I get netflix, I could return the favour.
Are there other sedmrvices worth considering? Sometime ago I saw an ad but when I was looking for the service I couldn't remember the name xD but I always had the feeling it was sky related, so maybe it's this Now thing.

I don't think there's anything else worth having in the UK, it's only really Netflix and Now TV (Sky) that get the good programmes. Of course there's iPlayer and such, but they're free.
Now TV is surprisingly good value considering how expensive Sky normally is. I added the movies too for an extra £8, which allows streaming access to everything on Sky Movies. I guess they're feeling the heat from Netflix and realised that they need to offer an affordable alternative to the rapidly failing set-top box and contract model.

Just came back from the new X-Men. I was expecting a lot but it left me disappointed. It tries too hard to combine these two great casts but it doesn't make any sense whatsoever and it keeps dragging on without anything really significant happening. I was literally starting to check the time about 45 minutes in. What a waste of potential.
For the life of me, I can't understand the 8.9 Imdb rating it currently has. Everybody is singing it's praises. It's even certified fresh on RottenTomatoes.

However, gotta give credit where credit is due. Quicksilver was fucking awesome!

Sigh, friend went last night as well and told me the opposite, how great the movie is…
