Entertaining but ultimately I find the universe a bit flat where the "authority" is too one-dimensionally evil.

How I Live Now

Very good film. About a girl trying to survive troubling times, just like Hunger Games. Only more down to earth and muuuch better.

The Last Stand

Good fun. Not a great movie, but entertaining. Arnold fo sho.

The Selfish Giant

Supposedly a very good film, but couldn't dig it all that much.

Didn't like Winter's Bone at all instead. THAT was boring. I have Gone Baby Gone to watch — have they done like a sequel? I've seen recently on imdb a "gone baby" film, and plot seems kinda the same.

I was tempted to buy the graphic novel that spawned Snowpiercer, it was listed on IGN as one of the 5 best novels of the year or something like that, then they told me the movie was rubbish.

Got to watch Ben stillers Walter mitty, the beginning was super slow but other then that it was such an amazing movie! Why it didn't win anything I don`t know.

Taxi Driver

At first I thought it was meh but the fact it was on my mind for many days after proved it obviously had an impact. I suppose anyone who's lived alone in a city where they don't know a lot of people can relate to a small degree.

Also I'm bumping up my review of drive to 4 stars

I tried this one because it received such critical acclaim. I can appreciate older movies (1975 and upwards) but this was just so dull and boring. Even the famous lines were a bit disappointing imo. It's not like I didn't try but really, not a movie for me. I prefer Mean Streets over this one (not that I thought that one was great either).

Just saw the Wolf of Wallstreet (finally)

I really enjoyed it. Great message too (I guess), at least I thought it was.

House of Cards o_o. Holy-Crap. It's good. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are just extremely talented actors. You would totally believe in the characters they create.

"47 Ronin" - Went in with low expectations, but as it turns out, if you want to see a movie about legendary warriors, do yourself a favour and watch this one instead of the 300 sequel (I've watched both). It doesn't only have ninjas, pirates, demons and Keanu Reeves (so what I like Keanu Reeves) it also has 10x more brains than Rise Of An Empire which is really just a cash-in with a script that has MURICA written all over it.

Wild Things - Basically a soft core porn film with a plot that has more twists than a rollercoaster.. it's all a bit silly but watchable.

I hear ya. I think it's partially because I know someone a little like the deniro character.

I'll check out mean streets

I did start Mean Streets one time, but I was too tired and they talk so fast and especially accented that I thought it would have been better to wait to improve and enjoy it.

Taxi Driver is on the list as well, but in such cases I try to watch movies chronologically (release date).

Speaking of old movies, you guys could think to do a full immersion of DeNiro and watch Raging Bull, which I've seen when I was still in high school times and have such a fond memory of it.

Can't watch Raging Bull unfortunately. The way they treat women in that movie (which is an accurate depiction of that period) just doesn't fly with me. Tried it a couple of times but especially the bitchslaps only made me ragequit.
