Considering i usually don't watch comedies and i hate self-referentiality, i found this quite amusing, i think they pulled it off nicely. Also, the last part gave me a distinct "video-gamey" feeling.

My guess is it's one of those shows that either people find fucking hilarious or not funny at all. I'm from the former side.

Watched 300: Rise of a Nation.

It was basically 300 on boats. Enjoyable spectacle, light on the plot. If you liked the first one, this is basically the same movie with a three minute angry sex scene. Which was kind of awkward to watch with my wife next to me...

I thought it was great honestly. The battle scene choreography was excellent, the subtle war between the leaders (which manifests especially in the control over who actually fucks who in the sex scene). Well played protagonist and main antagonist, well fleshed out story of how Xerxes came to be. It's far from the same movie IMO, it shows much more appreciation for subtlety and the intricacies of war politics while still showing the brutality of war in practice.

Well worth seeing, and a worthy successor to the first.

True detective was a blast, great series overall. I cannot recommend this enough.

Watched Stalingrad (2013) yesterday, despite not being a great movie, it looks gorgeous and its quite fun to watch.

It's something like 300, but in Stalingrad during the ww2.

I watched The Fifth Element for the first time in years. I totally forgot how fucking cool this movie is. It's such a joyride. Also, Chris Tucker is amazing in this movie. Enjoy:

I guess I didn't mean to come across quite so sardonic but let me throw in my 2 cents (lots of spoilers... sorta).

Like I said. I enjoyed both films but because of how the overarching plot flows, that really isn't that surprising.

I'm not sure how well this will fit in here between 300 and Stalingrad 3D but Blue Jasmine was pretty good in my opinion Superb performance by Cate Blanchett.

The focus is on the naval battles between Persia and Greece, along with the subtle fight between their leaders. So yes, both movies are about war, both movies have kings - apart from that, I'm having trouble seeing your comparison.

Yeah, the ending definitively felt rushed. All that careful planning just went overboard into a big action set piece.

Watched the entire first season of Gravity Falls... damn well written show, it's like the cartoon version of Twin Peaks

Not yet on Netflix unfortunately, adverts for the bluray release reminded me of this. Unfortunately the trailer show an amount of action and shooting that i wasn't expecting from the first trailer! And that doesn't seems good for me.

Liked it although I kinda missed the point maybe? Just stuff happening, pretty grim and very good character development though.

I liked it but I knew it was gonna be a B fantasy movie, if you know the plot is gonna be thin then it's quite enjoyable.

Wolf of Wall Street

Didn't really like it, was super long as well. Just meh, some funny scenes here and there but I kinda dislike the finance world and I didn't think it was gonna be about that, just party stuff xD His wife though.. hot damn. Fuck this, I like the movie.

Frozen

Ermahgerd it's a musical. Another surprise but it was pretty enjoyable albeit thin.

Escape Plan is on my list as well! If you say it isn't bad then that's all I need to know As long as it's not awful!
