I didn't think the first Hunger Games was that bad... I liked the concept of it, as well as the environments. I guess the story also kind of made sense (especially at the end). Then again I watched it as in flight so I might have missed some or most of the dialogue.

Also: Chainsaw, usually when people capitalize all letters it is meant as an abbreviation...

Sentura: maybe i watched the first one in the wrong mood, but I hated its pompousness and the CG (the train especially). I might not be the only one if they've cut most of these parts and there's more action, which was my other major disappointment (what's the point of her being an amazing archer if she does never use the bow?).

I get that its kitsch presentation was part of the story/world, but the plot just seems to piece together bits from major novels and movies (above all, the ending ripped from Romeo & Juliet /rolleyes). Final action scene of Catching Fire seems really inspired by Portal 2 btw =D

Eh I usually don't notice a lot of detail during movies, I just see them as a whole instead. Sometimes an actor does good stuff and I can see that, but for the most part I can enjoy any movie (unless it's full of shit like Skyfall).

I've got the same opinion about my attention level, i usually get immersed unless i feel the bollocks are really too apparent to not break the illusion. Like Dark Knight Rising, Skyfall I simply didn't like it too much hype.

I remember i wanted to shoot myself in a foot to keep me awake. Luckily it was just downloaded.

Yeah it mostly CG, i think to remember something like they had a little budget, but i could be mistaken. Artistically it was a bad copy of Star Gate so I was tempted to burn the file just to poop on it.

I somehow missed this on Wikipedia before...

Rewatched this movie after like 15 years since I saw it. So awesome to see a sci-fi with interesting story and characters, getting really tired of all the generic clean hi tech vfx fest from these days

american horror story. last episodes were pretty ok, i guess not as interesting as the first season. however, for some reason the directer decided it would be awesome to have crickets chirping in every fucking scene, appropriate or not. super annoying once you've picked it up. :/

Howl's Moving Castle. Insanely good looking movie, lots of awesome designs, great story but the ending was a bit of a letdown. Will need to watch it again later to really get it

Seen the S3 finale of Breaking Bad two nights ago: brilliant, i really like the show but it still never ramps up as i was expecting from the comments i've read/heard about it. What astonishes me are the flashbacks/forwards... it makes it feel as the most thought out show ever, as the whole story was planned in detail for the whole 5 seasons!

Last night i watched After Earth: don't like the natural-derived designs of equipment and story/narrative is bland, everything unfolds predictably.

Question: where the hell did the kid loose the spikey weapon? He has it on his back, then they cut scene and he suddenly hasn't anymore, and they carry on like if it's normal until he reach his destination and gets a new one?

Right now I was having a lazy sunday morning brunch and watched first part of the first episode of The Killing S3.

I thought AHS series one was pretty good, series two lost me about half way through, was too weird and got a bit complicated - will I like season 3?

yeah, i had trouble with season 2 also, but i found the 3rd season way more apealing (though not as good as season 1). i thought the plot was better and the characters more interesting. season 3 is definitley worth a try if you can afford the time.

Cool, I might give it a go, still planning on catching up on Person of Interest though (mid way through season 2), need to watch latest Homeland and Boardwalk and I've heard the Blacklist is good too..
