Yeah the new series of Walking Dead is amazing, really enjoying it. Last season may have well just been renamed to 'WHATS GOING ON AT THE FARM'.

One thing that annoys me about this show is when Rick is shooting stuff. He does this ridiculous arm flail when he fires his pistol to give a sense of recoil. Just looks weird

Haha true, though the farm did have some interesting parts

    Quote

Like when they were in that bar and they had that stand off with the bandits (super tense scene that was before they started shooting). I loved the scene where they tried to pull that bloated zombie out of the well, when it split in half was disgustingly beautiful!

and of course the barn scene when they freed the zombies to kill them.

So it wasn't all bad I don't think

But yes, this season so far has been awesome!

    Quote

When Rick embedded his machete into that guys skull... just awesome

    Quote

Awesome film though, aside from Joseph Gordon-Levitt's distracting eyebrows.

    ಠ_ಠ

Haha yes! I did notice how big and bushy they were. Why were they like that?!

Yeah it was good, but just pales in comparison to this series. There's something very mysterious about the prison, and it just gives a real fresh feel to the series.

    I wonder who

    Quote

that voodoo, ninja, samurai sword-wielding black girl is? And I wanna know how her and Andrea became so close. I imagine they'll do flashbacks to their time together before she got ill.

Lots of great shows on at the moment: Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead - all of them (still) good, but Homeland takes the cake.

The fact that Brody's cover was blown and he was beginning to realize that gave it a completely new dynamic. I didn't expect that to happen so soon. Now he's captured and I'm wondering what's going to happen next. The show is very fast-paced and unpredictable which I enjoy. It also touches on a very delicate subject.

I agree completely. This show keeps surprising me and it has a bunch of great actors.

    I watched the first part of Derren Brown's Apocalypse;

    http://www.channel4.com/programmes/der…es-14/episode-1

I wouldn't usually bother with his stuff but this one had a theme I could identify with so I gave it a go; pretty interesting stuff turning one man's world upside down, but it's hard to tell if it is genuine or staged since you wouldn't know how someone would act in that situation.

Although I must admit when Derren just touched him and said something I couldn't catch and he fell asleep, I did kind of think to myself "yeah that's a load of shit.. surely.."

[edit]Ok it would seem it is fake...

The bottle thing is especially damning...

I am getting serious Day of the Dead vibes from The Walking Dead now. In a good way!

Is it just me or did the series start out as a quasi-realistic 28 Days Later style but is now becoming more and more and more like an old school zombie flick? What with all the villains, the pretty extreme characters (katana-girl for example), gratuitous zombie kills etc...

Is S02 and S03 of walking dead any good compared to the first one? I hated the last 8 episodes of the first season, so I never bothered with S02.

Dunno what you watched, season 1 has 6 eps.

Overall, I think Season 2 is better, and Season 3 is the best so far.

***Some spoilers for the comics in here too***

I like the Governor, I think they've nailed his character. Now let's just see how dark/evil they'll make him. I really hope they bring his zombie daughter into the picture. That pilots head was in one of the tanks at the end, hopefully his body has been fed to his daughter. I doubt they'd go down the rape/torture route.

The ambush scene on the soldiers was the only part that annoyed me, they put up no fight. I know it was an ambush but not one of them reacted.

I wonder what part Daryl's brother will play. He no doubt wants revenge on Rick, maybe he will be the one to chop off Ricks hand as some kind of retribution for handcuffing him to the roof? That's if they actually chop off Ricks hand.

I've just bought The Walking Dead Compendium 2 on Amazon. REALLY looking forward to seeing where the comics go next!

Dude, I thought the spoiler tag was to hide this season's information. Apparently the stuff you mentioned all happend in the comics. Fuck! It's not your fault though, I made my own assumption. But since were there:

I got this strong feeling at the end of the last episode that his family was still alive and probably zombified. I thougth that he was visiting them in the room. Didn't expect the heads.

Walking Dead Season S2 Episode 1/2

Holy shit we're off to a good start! They're really not holding back on the violence on this one lol

    Quote

I didn't get why Rick started to kill some of the other prisoners after the psychopath was offed, he was clearly unhinged but the other one who ran wasn't that bad? I wonder what will happen with the two he's left alive...

Fucking FX's next week preview showed Merle coming back, twats! We knew it was coming but it's still kinda ridiculous how out of all the places he could turn up, he appears in the same location as Rick's group...

    and WD episode 3

    Quote

Knew that the Governor was going to be a bad guy, why else would the likes of Merle tolerate him? Speaking of which, how cool is his new hand replacement?..! I don't get why they had to kill those soldiers, I mean they could have used them as extra protection for Woodbury. Kind of unrealistic how they managed to kill them all without taking any causalties, the minute the Governor had pulled his gun out, they would have been able to drop him or at least get a few shots off before going down...

Pity Michonne had to kill her zombie pets, they were very cool Hopefully she'll get replacements...

It's clear that he wanted the supplies. But killing them looks like a strange decision. The world has gone to hell and you could use all the help you can get. Especially the help of trained soldiers. On the other hand, I understand it because why would the soldiers be obedient? They would surely follow the chain of command. It's the same with Rick's gang and the prisoners. You can't trust anyone. Regardless of the reasoning, seeing as how the episode ends, it's pretty clear that the Gov has some serious mental issues.

To the mind of the audience it's a really fucking retarded decision. An organized military platoon can be one hell of an ally. But, as you say, the Governor is fucked up in the head. Basically, what I think, is that he sees the town as is his "little kingdom" and he doesn't want anything to change that. I mean it's possible that the military would go to town with the fact that they are a government agency and try to start calling the shots. Also, this way, there's more drama.

Started watching the last season of Fringe, which like Lost was planned to be the final and conclusive season. This really is a great show if you can get through the lack of momentum in the first series, after which it breaks into an increasingly epic arc that escalates to apocalyptic proportions and manages to avoid becoming the dragged-out mess than Lost unfortunately devolved into. Highly recommend watching from the beginning to any sci-fi (horror) fan.
