In Bruges - Brilliant, highly recommended.
"It's a shithole"
"Bruges is my home town, Ray"
"Well, it's still a shithole"

Gonna be watching Old Boy this weekend with Pomperi when he moves into his new shindig, should be good!
Just came back from the new Mission Impossible. Not bad, not bad. Not the movie of the year but it's still a pretty decent action movie.
I was actually quite surprised it was this good.

I saw the trailer with the Kremlin blowing up, looked pretty good in that part... the rest of it.. I don't know what's going on... Does Russia have a large role in the film or do they appear behind the scenes whilst America saves the world again?
I just started watching my X-Files collection, still hands down the best US drama series ever made ![]()
Just watched Drive!
Amazing movie, very different from all the bang bang shit we have nowadays! Also, I was mind blown by how good and yet minimal the soundtrack is!
I watched two soviet war films over the weekend, Ballad of a Soldier and The Cranes are Flying. D3ads you need to check them out!
They are two of the finest art house films in existance. Especialy in The Cranes are Flying the cinematography is simply outstanding. I would consider it one of the most artisticaly pleasing films that i've seen.

Yeah Drive is absolutely incredible. It's like the 2010s Lost Highway without the bizarre things but with the same neo-noir aspect. I didn't know Gosling before but goddamn, he's so good in that movie.

The first third of the movie takes place in Hungary and Russia. But then again the movie is full of clichés so yeah. ![]()

Cool, I'll look into them though I don't think they'll be my thing from what I can see.. I could be wrong.

Can't say I'm surprised ![]()
Better than the original movie ?
Sometimes, "foreign" films can be more appealing to the "foreign" crowd.
The Swedish film industry is an inbred mess and I'm allergic to half of the actors in the original; especially the guy playing Blomkvist. So I can't really give an unbiased verdict. Loved the american version in any case. ![]()
Just saw Antichrist. I don't really understand why people got so offended by the "gory" and "pornographic" parts of the movie....I was expecting a lot more than 2 or so minutes of graphic scenes in the movie ![]()
Anyway, first half is very boring and the second half is... watchable. I know the movie is full of symbolisms and metaphors but I'd need to sit down with senture on a bar to really understand all the small meanings supposedly hidden in this film.
6.7/10
Drive man. The opening scene + soundtrack.
