What have you watched recently?

i can't get into any series lately, seems that everything new is just watered down. even things like breaking bad doesn't have appeal, and there are like 0 good sitcoms out there besides HIMYM and big bang. does anyone have anything to recommend?
-
Walking Dead was a pretty good. I can't really complain since its the only zombie show in existence. They sorta screwed up the shows consistency though. Seems like they dropped the whole zombies can smell humans bit. Not sure why they made it up in the first season to just ditch it in the second. Either-way, I wasn't much of a fan of the idea to begin with.

Well, did you watch Breaking Bad and not like it or does it's theme and setting not appeal at a glance? If it's the latter I'd say give it a chance and watch the first two episodes or so.
As mentioned in my previous post, I think Dexter is a solid show and I recommend watching it from the first episode.

i watched the first episode and while i could see it was pretty cool, it was just too long and not really my taste... ill try dexter

Dexter is fantastic. Better than TWD, no doubt, but I can enjoy a post-apocalyptic, horror-survival, zombie-smashing series to spice up my mix of (more or less) realistic shows that I watch. I must admit this inconsistency leaves a bad taste in my mouth though (totally forgot about this):

Haven't seen the latest Dexter episode but it started getting better with the second episode, still not sure whether I'm liking the religious vibe that seems to be the theme of this season.
Thought the first episode of The Walking Dead S2 was quite good, but then again I've been burned a bit before with that series. I agree that the thing with the zombies not being able to smell them was kind of a weird change, felt like they changed their stance just to have that scene (donno if its like that in the comic?).
Oh also started watching Homeland, quite good so far~

The latest Dexter was good, i also wasn't sure about the religious theme to this series, but what happened at the end of the episode was pretty cool

Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, HIMYM, South Park, The Walking Dead, House and Big Bang Theory are the shows I currently watch. I have also watched a couple of episodes of Terra Nova but its already starting to get dull so I don't think it'll pick itself up.

Yeah, I really liked that last scene, the second and third episodes were pretty good overall. However, I think that the religious theme happened way too fast during these first three episodes, but wait & see. :derp:

Finished watching Twin Peaks from start to finish. It's a shame there's not much closure, you can tell the network just pulled the plug.
Also got the flu. And the combination as given me the strangest dreams ever.

The current season of House is pretty good. They've significantly changed the cast, giving House a major lifestyle change, and two new employees while taking away three. Their patient in the second episode was a disembodied pair of lungs from a donor kept alive artificially until they could "cure" the lungs so they could be implanted.

hehe interesting to see how much opinions can divert from each other on series around here. I enjoyed the first episode, but House
Quotein a hospital without Cuddy, Chase and the rest of the team is not the same...Oh and Wilson doesn't count. How long did it take until they were friends again? He's such a whimp.

At the end of the second episode Wilson begrudgingly accepts House's presence on a work level, they don't do anything outside of work anymore (which wouldn't be too likely anyway since House has an ankle bracelet).
And I like that Cuddy's gone, and I'm pretty ok with his team being gone as well. House is back to being primarily about House, and House has always been the best character on House.

At the end of the second episode I watched Wilson told House to meet him at House's place for dinner (heck he even abandoned his plan not to eat red meat anymore once he made up with House). That implies to me that a) the bracelet came off after House saved the lung/patient and b) Wilson does put up with House outside of work.
House being the best character on House is a very non-controversial opinion, I agree!

Senna is my biggest hero. He was the greatest man to have ever lived on this planet.
I'm sure I already posted this on mapcore but it's one of the best tributes to him ever:

His transmission locked and drove the last laps with only 2 gears. He nearly passed out of exhaustion after he crossed the finish line and could barely raise the flag on the podium:

I get silent again by just watching these videos

a guy who won formula one races was your biggest hero? i mean sure that's a feat, and i could understand it if you were an aspiring F1 driver... but, what?
-
Ayrton Senna is indeed one of the most passionate people ever.
I was 9 when he died, but I remember clearly to see people's reactions to his death, Portugal was literally in shock, it was all over the news for days. (F1 was the number #2 sport that men loved to watch in portugal, after football)
The only time I remember something like this ever again, was when Princess Diana died.
