    I actually found season 1 of Boardwalk Empire a bit slow, it didn't really live up to the promise of the pilot episode, do you guys (who have watched the first episode of season 2) think it it going to be more of the same? As i'm not sure whether to bother

    It's not for you then. There are many slow moments that just let you suck in the atmosphere and visual style.

    Personaly i found the season 1 pilot a bit meh but then the show got better and better with every episode.

    I think that's why i didn't get along with Madmen, too much style over substance. I prefer series when one episode ends with something that really makes you want to watch the next (24, Breaking Bad etc). Probably will give BE a miss then cheers

    Yeah Boardwalk Empire isn't about action, it's focused on (for lack of a better term) immersion in prohibition era atlantic city. I found the pilot and all the following episodes all fantastic due to the music and atmosphere that everything was accompanied by. I want a Boardwalk Empire OST to import into Fallout
