The major problem is, I don'tknow if I will still play the game at the end of the year. Now we have to planned our year of gaming ? And I already have back to karkand, too. Don't want to pay again for it.

Same here, I will probably get Close Quarters and the next pack, but by then it'll be September with Black Ops 2 around the corner and I don't want to tie myself in to anything when I may not end up getting my money's worth (as I'll probably stop playing BF3 at that point), just a shame that means I have to wait 2 weeks for content. I made a similar mistake with Elite which I bought straight away and then realised MW3 wasn't the best so I sold it, without getting any mileage out of my membership at all really, so I'm wary of these long term purchases.

Yeah I see, but I think Premium is more geared towards the hardcore fans who know for sure that they will keep playing it until the end, and for those people it's a really good deal. I mean how else should they release additional content? It's obvious that there is a demand for it but would it make sense for them to just release all this content for free? We're talking 20 new maps and weapons and a bunch of other stuff that's not announced yet. It's a lot. I thought with $50 they found a decent middle ground for the whole batch, and for those players who aren't sure if they want all the DLCs they can always just get the ones they want as they come out.

It's out on PS3 but from what I've read so far people seem to be having trouble playing CQ.

yes same here, it is fcking ridiculous that i have to pay the same price as for game, just to have some new maps and shit, half of that price and i'm buying it

There will be 20 (!) new maps, new game modes, new weapons, vehicles, character skins, etc. - plus you get early access to all of it. That's quite a crap load of content. Sounds like a good deal to me. Then again I play this game daily, if I only played occasionally I probably wouldn't bother either.

    Also, for comparison:

    BF 1942 was 50$ expansions 25$-30$ x2

    Total cost 110$

    BF2 50$ Special Forces Expansion 30$ Boosters 15$x2

    Total Cost 110$

    BF3 60$ Bf3 Premium $50

    Total Cost 110$

You do realise that BF3 premium doesn't give you any expansion other than Return to Karkand right? You still have to buy the other expansions, you just get early access. It's total bullshit.

Not true. The whole point of premium is that it includes all the expansion packs, you are not just paying for an early unlock. Read the official BF3 Premium website for information. (http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield3 ... um-details)

Looks like a new variant of the m26 bug. The underslung weapon probably derives it's ballistics from the weapon it's attached to, so in this case a smoke grenade is fired like an AUG bullet.

Still, it's probably not as bad as the M26 bug...

Has anyone played Close Quarters yet? I purchased Premium a the day it was available and love what the new patch brought about, but I honestly have zero interest in playing CQ and have essentially just avoided it. There's no appeal there. If Operation Metro is a comparison to what it's like, then I'll steer clear of it. Perhaps I should take a whirl at it soon and judge for myself if I can work up the will, but in the meantime, what is the general consensus about it?

I really like it, could've used more game modes though.

The maps are NOT like metro. They are tight, sure. but play very differently.

I've been having a really good time on it over the last few days playing in a squad with some mates. I'd suggest sticking to 16 man servers, I found 32 players very quickly turned it into a Team-DM clusterfuck, God knows how it is on the few 64 player servers I've seen. With 8 Person teams it retains the tactical feeling of the larger battlefield maps, just with a faster pace. It's certainly much better balanced than Op Metro, the maps have an absolute ton of routes around them which pretty much eliminates bottlenecking completely.

The only downside I've suffered so far is I've been crashing every five minutes, though I have so much fun I've been just about coping with the constant reconnects.

I agree with Jenn0 that you are generally better off playing on servers with fewer players. I think that Operation 925 and Donya Fortress work pretty well with 24 players though.

I've played a few games in Close Quarters so far and while I like it, I don't see myself playing it very often, I prefer the wide open vehicle based maps, and if I want Close Quarters I'd honestly rather play Grand Bazaar or Seine Crossing or something like that, I feel like the CQ maps are too small and cramped for my taste. But it's fun for sure. Can't wait for Armored Kill next

I find that 32 man servers are actually the perfect amount of players. Always some sort of resistance on the way to a new point.

I did, however, play a 64 man CQ server for shits and giggles. Fuck me.

this is completely untrue. you need to up your reading comprehension skill stats, i suggest [boots Of Reading] combined with the [staff Of Reduced Butthurt], both have pretty good stats and will allow you to beat the final boss: Ura Fay'get

Sorry, guess its my fault that it was only advertised as early access to expansions, not actual ownership.
