I actually really like the sound of this suppression fire feature as described in the official quote above, especially as it's not just limited to the 'Support' class. I doubt the effect will be too debilitating as it'd get abused too much, but it will provide an incentive for people to not jump into a hailstorm of bullets because not only will they die fast but they'll find it hard to think straight and aim correctly should they be stupid enough to try it (just like you would IRL).

around 4:40 to 4:57, this is how suppression fire should be done. in general military shooters should take pointers from full spectrum warrior

it should be noted that this kind of suppression required huge amounts of ammo, which created a cost/efficiency balance.

Anyone who's read my "the heist"-post will know I am very much interested in suppression mechanics... done right, that is.

    I'm intrigued.

That doesn't look nearly as good as BF3, you should see an eye doctor...

Claim battlefield superiority this Autumn! The Battlefield 3 Limited Edition: Physical Warfare Pack is now available for pre-order exclusively at GAME and Gamestation in the UK

    Quote

In addition to the launch day exclusive weapons, the Physical Warfare Pack also includes the Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand digital expansion pack. Players can wage all-out war on four of the most celebrated maps from Battlefield 2, including Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman and the Sharqi Peninsula

Does this mean that anybody who buys it after it's released will have to pay extra for those maps?

actually if you just preorder the game anywhere you will get those maps. that article is just saying in addition to preordering from that special location you will also get the map pack.

they are simply giving you everything in one lump without you having to worry about where you preorder it from. as long as you preorder.

    preorder.

So you're basically already sure you want the game? Then just pre-order and get it free. Keyword is free here in case you didn't listen, it's free. My advice here is free as well, pre-order the game.

In other news, contact Lulzsec, they hack everything these days, even Bethesda. That's right indeed...

But who knows, perhaps they'll leak the maps... for free, exactly!
