That was awesome, I'm in awe of how much kinetic energy there seems to be in this game, even in the video.

this doesn't look too bad either [Blocked Image: http://www.bf3world.com/Battlefield-3-Hochhaus.jpg]

That' looks like a remake of Road to Jalalabad.

Singleplayer looks impressive though, very scripted which I enjoy in a shooter like this. Really want to see a Backstab remake though

Well, you know they're gonna do an awesome job with it, so why not show the part that people are doubting first

And yeah, I know you don't care about the SP, now I'm talking about others

At the end of the day we all know what we're gonna get from the multiplayer and we're all going to buy it unconditionally, so they might as well take the opportunity to show off some of their single-player stuff while we anxiously devour every piece of media released leading up to the inevitable multiplayer reveal.

DICE haven't done me wrong yet (although they made no secret of taking Bad Company in a slightly different direction which I wasn't particularly into), so I see no reason to worry. Every main PC Battlefield I've played has been absolutely exemplary.

It's a shame we haven't seen mp yet, yes. From what I can see the SP looks like BC2 SP so far; heavily scripted, dumbshit AI and overall not too interesting. DICE could prove me wrong though, which I hope they do.

However, I still think what we've seen is awesome because the gunplay, animations, overall feel and juicy graphics will probably carry over into MP... which is the important part

Yeah, but DICE display their Single Player stuff in other games which I'm cool for. I'm just not digging it all that much; having a load of SP thrust in my face through a purely MP game.

well Dice didn't fail with MP yet, with SP they did alot with Bad Company 2. So, showing SP first seems like a nice thing to me.

I would also like to point out that when promoting the SP component of your upcoming "big time" SP/MP shooter sequel, you should show gameplay...imho. But not just 1 second or half second "money shots" cut together in a sizzle real designed to amp up hype but actual bits of uninterrupted gameplay. In the clip posted above the cuts lasted 5 to 10 seconds (or wait...I didn't time them) but the point is that it was not a hyped up sizzle real showing 1/2 second cuts set to rockin' out music or other marketing exec inspired bullshit. I liked that because it shows you a "day in the life" of the game so to speak so you can really look at the art, the animation, the level design and get a sense of the gameplay (if any) and make your own decisions. I feel this gives a much better sense of what a game will be like.

I know many people here already get this idea but FFS I wish more marketing suits did. Anyway, like what you see of BF3 or not, at least they are showing us the game and not just renders or sizzle reels.

...if you recall for MW2 at E3 2009 they showed a guy playing 5 or 10 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay on one of the snow levels. Say what you will of CoD but from a gamer perspective I greatly appreciated just seeing pure gameplay and not pure bullshit.

    Ok...need coffee...

Feels so good to see actual PC footage of a game for once. Not even Crytek did that. God bless DICE Looked sweet as hell.

As nice as it looks, I don't really care about the single player at all. I want to know what the gameplay & balance is going to be like when there's 64 player carnage taking place

The bf2 demo with gulf of oman was some of the best demo enjoyment I've ever had and then the full game came out and I pissed myself.

    Audiogasm.

I would pay top dollar to pleasure DICE's audio team.
