The game holds up surprisingly well. Really great game. Awesome blend of adventure and horror elements. I think I'll do another play through with Chris and maybe even go for the 3 hour trophy.

One thing I was super surprised about was how good this game looks. It's an HD version of a remake from the early 2000's but it still looks really really good. Obviously part of this is due to the game environment being somewhat pre-rendered but even then it still looks really good. They have lots of nice little touches of motion which I'm guessing is done by super-imposing some real 3d elements with high res textures/shaders over the world.

I'm looking forward to the RE2 remake that's supposed to come out any day now. It seems it's never been a better time to play the RE series.

Yeah, it's one of my favorite survival horror games. I think that 2 will still take a while though. Different engine and far more work than 1 and 0.

Yeap, one of the best games I've played last year. I've played the original countless times when I was a kid, and it was great to revisit it with a few twists added other than the new graphics.

Do you remember if the zombie burning thing was in the original game? I was talking to a friend about the game and he says he doesn't remember that part.

No, I believe that was added on the HD remaster. This game should be used as a real sample on how to do a remaster, leaves the original intact and adds meaningful content. The lisa shack / courtyard was my favourit, I was not expecting that! :D

    That's all new? Cool!

When it asked me at the start about how I like games I think I picked what equates to hard mode. My answer was something like "I like my games to punish me hard."

Now I'm bummed out that RE2 remake wont be out for a long time. Oh well I have RE:Zero on the disc.

    @(HP) and @AlexM:

When I first played the Gamecube remake, I killed a zombie but when I came back in the hall, I expected it to come to live just like in the original. What I wasn't expecting though, that this time the fucker jumps up and starts running towards you. Not any of the slow stuff from the original, but still the tank controls. One of the few times a game managed to panic me that bad.

Hahah yeah, I was thinking to myself "why do I need to bother burning these bodies, I'll just kill them" then almost shitting my pants when I thought I was walking through a safe room. After that I couldnt get enough kerosene.

Started playing everybody's golf on vita. Pretty fun game. I never thought i'd say that about a golf game.

Started playing Ryse earlier today. Yeah. The visuals are stunning. That's about it.

Just don't play it longer than 20min a day, then it's actually an enjoyable game.

I haven't finished Ryse and need to do that at some point. What annoyed me and kept pulling me out of the experience was the silly control layout. I think was very stupid make a game with a very similar fight system to Batman Arkham (I would say a standard nowadays)… and invert the parry. Kept breaking my combos and enraging me.

Playing Shantae. I didn't know much about it going in but I'm hooked now. One of the better platformers I've played in recent memory.

It's not a bad game. I feel like it's getting so much unnecessary hate, especially on steam reviews. The main issue I have with it is that it's trying to be grander than it is. Everything is exaggerated and out of proportion. It's a shame, because there aren't that many action games based around roman times. At least none that I'm aware of. I'd like to see something more open world based on that time period.

Just finished Night in the Woods. Fantastic game, and probably the closest I've ever felt to recognizing the lives of characters in a piece of fiction. Absolute best writing of any game imo.

Oh wow @Jetsetlemming, saw that available and intrigued me a lot.

Im gonna wait a sale tho, more so because I have several adventures in the queue already (Oxenfree, TellTale stuff and more) and if that's really best than wouldn't be so nice to go back to other games :D

It's only $20, and it's easily worth it. It's a pretty long game, and has a TON of optional/branching/secret stuff in it. Plus it's a tiny dev team who worked really hard to get to this point, they deserve support. And it's definitely a better game than any TellTale game I've ever played. TellTale's okay, but this is like... look, it's video game's Citizen Kane, ok!? It just is! :P

I know it's a fair price, but I haven't really played adventures in the past. And in general take a look at my game list on steam to see what I have to "get rid of" ?

I'm a bit intrigued nowadays, there seem to be some very good around, I like the original artwork that most of the times goes with this kind of game and they should be shorter hence easier to "clear" from your game list. But at the moment I've played only Walking Dead S1 and Michonne's mini-series.

Most of all though, I've collected a little catalog as reference, thinking that it is an easier game to make if you take the plunge to an indie project.
