Friends still want to play SFxT so I decided to put some time in today. Bounced around a few teams but now I’m Julia/Xiaoyu, which works pretty well judging by the hate mail I get. Xiaoyu can sweep people six times in one combo and it does 45%. Julia is very good at setting it up and, because Xiaoyu doesn't need meter, is usually sitting on her OP super. Good times.
i wonder how that would work vs my rolento/asuka. asuka doesn't need meter either, and juggles easily reach mid 300 to low 400. also there are no links, it's just cancel, so i can go j.hp, mp, lp, mp, lk, upkicks, j.hk, c.mk/lp and finish with sweep or go into triple sweep > falling rain > sweep. tekken combos are fucking unending
-
I think Rolento would be able to tag her in off the last Patriot Circle rep ready to do Lift Licks or something cancelled into Lift Licks (cr.mk?). Another trick is doing a normal boost combo, but then Switch Cancelling the launcher for one stock; the camera will spaz a little and the incoming character will have their juggle limit reset, which lets you do some fancier things that would usually just miss.
Julia is hot because you can just do short chains like st.mp > st.lp or (corner) f.mk > mp > mp > hk rising kick and Xiaoyu comes in ready to do her sweeps for big damage. Xiaoyu’s loop is actually six raw sweeps rather than a chain; you float them and juggle with a sweep, cancel into Phoenix Stance, then press down twice to cancel Phoenix Stance back to neutral with enough advantage to sweep again – repeated until you hit the juggle limit. I’m also sure you can setup a Wave Crest from Phoenix Stance on her last juggle instead, which knocks them much higher - this would let Julia Switch Cancel in, do some stuff, then Switch Cancel Xiaoyu back with her juggle limit reset again.
I was playing around with: (Julia) f.mk > mp > mp xx lk windroll, cr.lp, cr.lp, b.mp > lp xx dp hk, tag (Xiaoyu) [cr.hk xx df.PPP, df, df]x6. It basically does the same damage as her shorter chains into Switch Cancel because of scaling and has two one-frame links, but sometimes you’ve just got to be sexy.

thanks, i dunno why i didn't think of patriot for swapping, seems way too obvious now. one other problem right now is that i can't consistently hit with oni after j.hk, and thus i can't cancel into super either. i'm actually wondering whether or not i would be able to do patriot > swap > oni > super/cross.
also, consistently hitting 1 frame links? are you a wizard?
oh and hit me up if you're on ps3, trickstersentura

Patriot Circle will scale pretty badly but Rolento is about his insane pressure game rather than damage so don’t worry too much. Jabs and jumps are free in this game.
I can’t one-frame stuff with any kind of consistency, but I try and go for it rather than doing an easier alternative, especially when Xiaoyu’s breakdance loop is such a good trump card anyway. Julia's really hard execution stuff will be her

Firefall beta. Pretty kewl. Damn confusing though, very little documentation and on screen hints. Pretty much have to feel your way around, like a blind man at an orgy.

I prefer numpad notation because it adds readability, especially to long combs, but it's not really used for Capcom games.

Got Re 5 and Syndicate (afraid to play RE5, doesn't look RE to me, but i heared it is a good game)
Syndicate - it plays nice, but WTF with that bloom, DOF, after 3h of playing i'm blind for real, the cover system sometimes is fucked up
still nice game, frontal shooter, but doesn't feel like syndicate at all . . .

getting into gw2 beta on the 20th

beta for everyone who pre-purchases, right?
so if i preorder i can play the beta on 20th too?

So I'm trying to not go all fanboy here, but Skullgirls just released last night (except for EU PSN) which I’ve been following for an extremely long time and actually lived up to my hype and beyond.
It’s an indie downloadable title and noticeably rushed out so don’t expect too much in terms of modes, features and
Quotein-game movelists
. But the gameplay and art are there in full, even if the latter is a little polarizing. The tutorial mode is also the best I’ve seen in a fighter – it actually teaches you how to block properly and do mix-ups rather than praise you for throwing a fireball.
I’m going to a SFxT tournament this Sunday because a friend asked me to go with him, but I honestly can’t see myself training at all with this in my hands.
Oh yeah, and after years of “I played DotA before it was cool” my friends finally convinced me to install League of Legends.

That's correct.

So I'm playing (sorry trying to play) Demon's Soul. I spent more than 20 hours but now I'm too tired. Ok it's difficult but fuck seriously, I have a good level, some good weapon but the game continue to troll me with some guys killing you with 2 unblockable shots (and I'm a warrior, not a mage) it's not fun anymore.
Dark Soul is for children after that, lol.

I'm finishing Skyrim as we speak. I'm on 101 hours now and half way through the main quest. It goes really fast since I already explored and/or cleared every location they are sending me to. I think I'll end up at 105 hours, max 110. It's a lot of time but I had a blast.
I installed the complete mod for Stalker: Call of Pripyat. After 100+ hours of RPG, it's time for a shooter

You're either gonna be happily surprised or very disappointed, STALKER is more of an RPG than Skyrim could ever hope to be.

Don't play COP with Complete. Its primary worthwhile feature is integrating Amtosfear (a weather/graphics mod) and the original content is buggy and performance ruining. If you've never played it before, install nothing, or at most Atmosfear (go into its options and turn off the gameplay features like psi storms and blowout zombies), and if you have, try SGM (if you want a vastly expanded experience), or Misery (if you want a more challenging and atmospheric experience).

I thought the complete mod fixed a lot of bugs? I played the first 2 games without mods, just the patches of the developer. I like to keep it as close to the original as possible. I choose this one because it looks nice and features sound interesting. I'll go with the original game instead. Thanks for the tip!
