Rage. I love the actual combat. Some of the best feeling combat in a long time. The vehicles and talking really get in the way of the fun though.
Doom4 could be awesome if Id remembers their roots. They need to get the old team back together.

Going back to Dead Island. It's weird, there are a lot of mediocre games I've played over semi-recent game history, like Borderlands and Kane and Lynch 2, that were worthless SP and saved by coop. Dead Island is the other way around, the way it's organized for multiplayer is terrible, with difficult communication with other players, and less fluid mechanics in general for coordinating what you're going to do and how you're going to do it, unlike Borderlands, despite basically cloning it. In SP the game was okay-ish, not great, until this morning when I happened upon the "Heavy Duty Mod", and built it- a metal rod with electrified fins going down it. Gives a bonus to crit, and, on crit, does 5x weapon damage as electricity, which turns the enemy you whacked with it into an electrified projectile flying away from you at mach speed, typically crashing into the first wall and instagibbing on contact. It's fucking AWESOME. Instantly redeemed the game for me, I've started building my character to focus on getting crits now. ![]()
Fond a link to this on RPS, thought might as well drop it here: http://1916.dadiugames.dk/
Been having a massive craving for a good old simulation game after that whole Tiny Tower thing, but no new RollerCoaster Tycoon, SimCity, etc in sight.
Might have to install The Sims 3 seeing as I didn't play it very much and it still looks pretty hot. ![]()
Apart from plenty of Battlefield 3 and Hero Academy on the iPhone, then I've been revisiting a lot of old DOS era games, mainly Lands of Lore, Heroes of Might & Magic 2 and UFO: Enemy Unknown. So good~~

I actually wrote a game design document for a facebook game that closely recembled transport tycoon but incorporated more activities with friends such as pooling money together to make businesses or train routes etc. I really wish a game like that existed.
finished infamouse 2 !
... why did they have to switch the voice actor and
... why are half the sound fx missing and
... why is the music only playing 1 of ( of presumably 5 ish ?! channels )
good game ruined by everything sound ! ![]()

Aside from the basic mechanics of shooting, running, and jumping there's almost nothing good about it. Probably the most abhorrent set of characters I can remember. Boils down to an unlikeable asshole simulator. Why did I finish that game.
infamous 1 was pretty damn good tho, guess I wont give the second a chance, it was on my backlog.
first one is excellent second one i wanted to like but just cant because of the audio crap ... story conclusion/choice is good though !
Yeah the audio was odd, it was very quiet half the time with nothing happening. Other than that it was great.
I really liked Infamous 2, and though I agree that there was some weird audio bugs here and there, then it didn't change the fact that it was, much like the first game, one of the best super hero games around.

Didn't manage to appreciate this game. Even forgiving the fact that it looks quite bad (never stopped me from enjoying games), the gameplay never really quite fell into place for me: the platforming was a bit too old-school and simple, the enemies were too rock-paper-scissor like, meaning you usually have only one single way of defeating an enemy, which makes encounters more about repeating the same process over and over, hardly felt like I had any choice. Some environments were interesting, and they had some cool ideas, but always the scale of the environments and their emptiness resulted in the feeling that something was off. Leveling up took ages and the rewards were disappointing, and the secrets/bonus items didn't make any sense: why would I want to pick up bottles that don't do anything, or memories that don't really make me understand anything better?
Won't complete this game!

Yes!!! I started playing in Dec...then got totally sidetracked by work and SWTOR (shuddup! it was for work...really).
Now I'm squeezing in some B:AC again. I think I'm very close to the end. Let's hope Batman: Gotham City (orwhatever game is next in this series) is even better.
Still playing SWTOR, haven't stopped. nor played anything else since the week before it released ![]()
